lorrys and tractors DO NOT have thin ply Radial tires...radial tires just cannot hold full pressure... unless they have tubes in them...they just will NOT hold air for 20 plus years...you see all these abandoned cars with flat tires..and they have not been sitting for twenty plus years.

You do realize that after 20 years all the oil has dripped down into the oilpan and there is nothing left on the engine parts. Shit could seize or weld up when starting the engine without lubrication.

hahahahahahahahahaha...I have owned SIX Deloreans...and in NO WAY will they start up on the first crank after sitting for twenty years....heck they will NOT start up after sitting for one year with the old gas...and those tires would be dry rotted...along with the fuel lines and the Brake master cylinder would be shot from sitting...not to mention the brake calipers would be frozen and the rotors would need to be resurfaced...and the tires even if they somehow managed to hold air would all have flat spots(square tires) from sitting...and the anti-freeze would have done wonders(damage) to that Aluminum engine block...they threw old clothes and some talcum powder on top of those rags to give it the "dusty appearance"...hahahaha how fake and phony....!!!! BTW...I actually did get one that was stored in a storage unit like in the video in Connecticut(USA)...as a trade in on a delorean for his stored delorean plus 14K for My delorean.

I had strong suspicions that it was fake a while back. The fact that none of the rest of the "crowd" ever put in successful bids, but this episode put it beyond reasonable doubt. After 20 odd years the battery would be unchargeable. Plus the fact the tyres would have all been flat, brakes seized, etc, etc. And that buffoon with the Hawaian shirt (and his outbursts) would have been "decked" years ago. If you believe this then you'll believe "Back to the future" is a true film.

You’d have to fill the tires (which are full apparently after 20 years) or out new tires on, Change the oil and the oil filter, replace the old gas with new, change the battery out along with the fuel filter...

The delorean one was bollox, i know someone who has paid to hire that exact car on 3 occasions. Once before this and twice after it was made. Its a car people can hire for tv/film work and special occasions. They also hire out novelty cars such as a delboy car, an ecto-1 and a batmobile replica amongst their range of classic and rare motors.

If that car was ever stolen, it would go back to it's original owner, happened to a good friend of mine years ago . He got a MG classic mini from a scrap yard.. was just a empty shell.. took years restoring it. Spent thousands on it.. got stopped one day by police.. looked at the chassis number identification number. Had been reported stolen 11 years previous.. he was absolutely gutted.. the man hours he put in that car was year's..do your home work buying any car no matter how old or rusty it looks

People are aggressively quick to call this out as fake and probably don't realize the show is made for pure entertainment. While stuff like this gets old quick, the "hasn't been opened in 20 years" part could just be a generalization. It may not have been driven, but basic work like changing the tires, battery, oil, and even some wiring can be done without turning it on and/or moving it very far from the container. You'd be surprised at how many people do driveway/backyard work on their vehicles.

While there is a chance to You may find a something rear just sitting there on the table of a car boot sale going for 50p and may stumble across something of value in a storage lot auction and get a nice bargain, I remember this episode and stopped watching after as I think this a big set up even if the car had been there for 20 years there is no way it would be able drive, for one the tires would be rotten and flat, even if they held air it would not hold air for long, even if some one cranked the engine over by hand and put oil in the cylinders it still run like a bag of spanners, I had a VW Scirocco that had sat on a driveway for ten years I drained the oil and fuel and replaced with new cranked it over by hand for 10 minutes, the engine was not snagging so knew the rings where not seized, then put in new plugs and HT leads with dizzy cap and rotor arm to give her a chance to run, put a new battery in and fired her up she ran like a bag of spanners for the first 5 minutes but I think the auto choke was sticking all though I did replace the coolant I the engine really needed a good strip down, she ran though so left her ticking over for about 30 minutes and she was running ok, after I worked on her got her though her MOT 😀

As a UK Delorean owner, and club historian, I was surprised when, a few years ago we were asked if we knew of a car that could be hired for a few weeks.....this show the result! Any owner know that the batteries go flat after a few weeks of storage, unless you disconnect them. This show is absolute rubbish...in fact it put me off watching it...... for ever!........ever cloud has a silver lining!

Its not as likely as it being a delorean though, as delireans were available in britain (being an irish car) and IROC's werent. Still though, this program is all fake, and definitely staged. That delorean belongs to a hire company that hires out cars for tv, movies, weddings etc. I know someone who has rented the actual vehicke they used on this show, for promotional appearances for his company, on at least 3 occasions. This tv show is bullshit (As a side note, you can order a brand new delorean from the American factiry, as someone bought the brand-name, the old factory and its contents, and the rights to produce new cars using the back stock of parts. The only downside is that there is a waiting list of over 5 years. The good news is a new, factory made car almost is cheaper than buying second hand. A second hand delirean averages orices between $$20,000 to $40,000 whike a new one is between $35,000 to $38,000 depending on spec. Also, in the irish factory headquarters there still stands a quantity of deloreans, thought to be in the 100's if not 1000's, just sitting there doing nothing. They are not available for sale. If you go on google earth it is possible to get a view of this factory with rows of the cars just sitting there. Its a shame. As shitty as the build quality was, i want one.)
