Congratulations, Derek. I was checking out your numbers, and your channel frequently surpassed NASCAR truck racing for the number of viewers. More people watch you than a multi-million dollar production.

I always knew Derek was a showman with his own distinctive style. I was not prepared for the kind of showman he has really become! He had the crowd when he stepped out of Charlotte and dejectedly said "....digicals...." But then he emceed the burn out competition with ease, like he has been doing this all his life. This was a great show!

I disagree! The exposure from the MT series is great (and the extra income too, I presume), but those rescue episodes are so heavily edited that there's no sense of the time and effort they required -- and the physical and mental toll on Derek and friends is plain to see. I really don't like that series. His self-produced KZbin work is FAR better in my opinion.

Call me a stick in the mud but I just don't get the burn out pit thing. So you make a car that can burn the tires off (not that hard) and then take it out there and spin donuts around with it. How much talent does it take to do that? Drag racing is great, takes driving skill and mechanical skill to build a car that will go fast in the 1/4 mile. If you could strap a monkey in the seat of a burn out car and show him where the go fast pedal is, I'm sure he would figure out the rest. Just not my cup of tea.

Derek, I sure do enjoy your videos and the fact you include your boys and lovely wife. So good to see family sharing the things they love doing. I too was raised up on a farm to be a Jack of all trades and master of non. I like seeing a well rounded person who can do most anything. The rescue of an old internal combustion engine in a classic vehicle is rewarding, no matter what it is. It’s is so good there able to share you guys videos with my family and know there won’t be anything that requires a censor so the kiddos can watch. It just amazes my granddaughter, 7 and 10, that your boys jump in there too and are learning so much useful information and not some of the junk taught in our public schools now. Please keep up the good videos and hold to the values you represent. I live up in Cookeville and going to try to get down to visit soon.
