I was the private librarian of the biggest most valuable private library of a gentleman from his 85th until he passed at 92 years. Not even family had access to it. Started at the age of 20 as he was a neighbour. Nobody could stand him but we had great fun. Also grew up with 6 languages and Latin which was needed. As these books are in English they might only achieve a high price in the USA, UK, AUS and other English speaking countries. The real first editions were all in Latin, Italian, French and German. I would definitely ask specialist before you give them to auction. Rudyard Kipling surely has many collectors, maybe even keep it yourself.

I’d like to see those old books get into an auction. All pretty valuable.

Mike and Jack, You obviously didn't read my message about violins and violin bows. You will not find a Strad but there are a lot of excellent instruments out there, including the Strad copy. It depends on the maker and the overall quality. You probably won't read this but I just wanted to let you know. Cheers, Rik Spector

Ephemera. Scrapbookers and Collage makers buy ephemera and make cool art pieces that tell a story about a particular period in time. Photos from the same year, advertising from the same year, pamphlets from the same decade, etc. Even newspaper articles about the same subject matter. That is what ephemera basically is.

I can't believe you shook those fiddles. Some parts are fragile. My 85 year old dad rebuilds them and repairs them. He has a few. He inherited an 1800 s one good maker from a friend pro player but it's not worth as much as you think. Prices are if in mint which most are repaired with modern parts and finish. Has to be a professional restoration but still would bring down cost on a really old 1800s

Sorry for not posting this before, but that Italian violin could be very old which would explain the condition. There is an Italian violin maker with the first name of Lorenzo, I can't remember his last name, but some of his violins have sold for upwards of $60k plus. I think they were from the mid to late 1700s.. and with the horse hair bow, it just seems to fit the time period. Another great score guys 👍👍👍 stay safe and God Bless 🙏

@@StorageAuctionPirate Thank you. In general if books are old, in good condition and rare they are more collectable and valuable. Others have mentioned first editions, look to see if there is just one original date on the first page. But having the paper cover ie fly leaf can help value. Illuminated manuscripts(with beautiful hand painted decoration) can fetch huge sums. Wishing you good luck with your finds.😊

Anyone know if Jack has said when he's going to post any videos? He only posted the first one. Pirate, you need to contact real appraisers on the instruments.
