And I see how Billie Joe took that negative, and turned into a positive and now I'm trying to do the same thing. I've learned guitar, and now I'm the lead singer of a punk rock band. I'm trying. I think Rebecca had the greatest voice for "Whatsername", and their version of 21 Guns/When It's Time brings tears to my eyes. I grew up on Green Day and I love how they change with time; if they didn't, they wouldn't be as well known as they are now.

As someone who went and saw American Idiot Broadway, i can say, although it was good, there were quite a few flaws that I found and others pointed out. I think the biggest problem is that I felt that the way they portrayed Jimmy was wrong. I know he is the son of "rage and love", but there as too much "love" for it to seem like Jimmy. Billie had said before that Jimmy hates his friends, hates his family, hates the town he lives in, etc, so I didn't see the point of adding Tunny and the others.

What's stunning about the musical is that these songs had to be so masterfully written by Billie Joe in the first place in order to be converted into songs with more layers and textures, not to mention different voices. That's the mark of an excellent songwriter.

Also, the singing in the play was amazing, but I don't think the singers were suited to the songs. Or more of the songs weren't suited for their style of singing. They were just so articulate when they sang, but when Billie sings the songs, he kind of slurs his words. while it was still great to listen to, it didn't sound right. But that's just my opinion, and everyone is entitled to theirs.

++Heath Roberts You have every right to your opinion....BUT, Green Day's Billie Joe himself said that some of the songs are even better than when they were recorded. He's happy with the result (he did, after all, agree to it in the first place!) Secondly, this is a Broadway show....it's not supposed to be "a great reflection of the band." It's based on American Idiot as a musical opera.

I love this show but I wish that ALOT of stuff was different. 1. I would have loved if "When It's Time" was the only song that involves a character playing the guitar. 2. Cut out Know Your Enemy. Plot wise, it makes no sense to have it there. 3. Different coreographer. Some of the girls dances are just ridiculous (the first time they come in the title song for example)
