Got to work one day at a minimum wage job to find the place had been put into receivership because the boss hadn't been paying the suppliers for a long time. The receivership manager told us we had to keep coming to work & we'd be paid. I said our wages could be put into escrow so we could be sure we'd be paid. He sneered at me. I didn't come back the next day. Years later, I ran into one of the other workers, one of the ones who'd believe that crap about being paid. She told me a couple of the top guys on the floor got paid & none of the women did, after they'd worked about another week there. I told her I had taken a couple of days off then walked straight into another job. So don't do another hour until management proves the money is there waiting & they can't pull it out again.

I got my first job at piggy wiggly two years ago, I was sixteen. I HATED working the register, but when it was quiet I got to go stock, I loved doing that. A few months ago I got moved to stock permanently. I was so happy, I was excited to go to work for the first time ever. And until last month, I was livin my best life finishing 3-5 isles a day, got a pay raise and made some friends. My manager told me we had a store meeting to meet the new store manager. Okay fine. So I go to the meeting new manager is nice, but they tell us no more ear buds. That's a issue, I have adhd and I can't focus without them. Like, at all... I'm like a squirrel. So the meeting ends and I approach Ms.m to let her know that I can't work as well without them. She says"sorry nothing I can do". So I say okay, and go about my work... Everything is fine for about a week. I clock in. Go to the break room. Drop my purse. Head to the stock room. My manager, let's call him mr.m stops me in front of every one. He proceeds to ask me were I get the AUDACITY to tell the store manager I can't work without my ear buds. I respond back like one. That was a freakin week ago two. Excuse me? The AUDACITY? The moment he said audacity my mind was made up. But I waited... To see what would happen. He walked me to my first isle, and told me "you don't need those ear buds. You just think you do. How you do today will determine your future here. " So I looked at him like EXCUSE ME? but I got to work anyways. For about fifteen minutes. I worked myself up, and went to the break room, grabbed my purse and went up front. Told ms.m I was done. She asked me why and I said quote to the best of my ability *I refuse to work somewhere the manager had the audacity to speak to me the way Mr. M just did. * and I just left. Goin to pick up my last check tomorrow.

This is for anyone out there that quits a job and they try to keep your last paycheck. First off that is extremely illegal. I urge you to go directly to your states/city department of labor. In some instances the company may even have to pay you more. I had one company accuse me of stealing (turns out it was the owners girlfriend. She did this shit every time a new person was hired, hoping the new guy would get blamed) so they refused to give me my last check, and even tried to drop my hourly rate. I reported them, and rightfully they were warned. I not only got my last check with the correct hourly rate, but was awarded an additional ten percent each day my check was late. According to the labor board, this particular company tries to pull this shit with every person that quits. You would think after the first time they were hit was a fine, they would learn their lesson, but no. I believe that they may have gotten away with it once, and hoped it would work again.

Well the answer google gave me was that it's a form of OCD, but either google didn't go too much further into detail because they didn't feel the need, or I just missed something, because they basically left it at that lol. So now I still wonder, to this day, if these shit smearers see clean walls and truly believe that there is not enough shit on them, and that it looks so wrong to them without shit on it that it would be torture to continue on with their lives without rectifying (pun intended) it.

It happens often, something about the small space & the air it creates like a vortex. I said "oh wow! my bad!" There was 2 other girls, one not working but stopped by to talk to the other. The one not currently working came yelling at me, asking me why I slammed the door. I explained myself and said something to the effect of do not yell at me and back away from my person. She then really started getting worked up yelling profanities at me & acting like she was going to fight me. I told her she didn't know who I am & that I was not going to be treated that way. I then turned on my heel went n did my business. Called the owner, explained the situation. Had a good cry because I was not expecting that at a new job! Went back and she started at me again. Told her I did not need the job that bad & to have fun working my shift. She tried saying there needed to be 2 ppl there etc etc. I got into my car & went home! Haha. SMH I'm a nanny now & I love it! So happy not to have to put up with young girl drama anymore.

They were with us for at least an hour, I wanted to scream at their mom. Your black friday stories remind me of the time ALDI sold "their" first PC back in the late 90's early 2000's - people lined up in front of the doors well before opening time. Then people stormed in, chaos ensued. More than once the palets with the pcs were empty within minutes of opening, so people took "their" PC from a shopping cart of another customer that was looking at a different item. But after a few years "self regulation" settled in - people were no longer lining up like mad and they had more computers in storage. A big part played that computer magazines tested the ALDI-pcs and test results always said that they brought a ridiculous level of bloatware... Regarding black friday in itself - people here lose interest. The products are advertized with huge discounts - but if you really check them out, its like 10 % compared to prices just before the sale - if any discount at all. The shops like to use the initial higher prices for discount advertizement, not the latest retail prices.

Had to get a kid out of the windows while they were screaming and the parents laughing after the kid yanked the sign down and it fell on the them (it was poster paper and didn’t get hit with the plastic part). Had to get to clean out of a fitting room where the lady tried on 4 different styles of jeans, in three different colors, and four different sizes (48 pairs); and I almost cried when running it back ok the floor, as she ended up only getting one of the styles in one of the colors. Also had this happen a bunch; had customers get mad every time I sent a associate on their break/lunch (I had fun though explaining to them that they want me to commit a crime, especially when the majority of associates are minors, and they need to take their breaks when they need to take their breaks based on minor laws and labor laws in general).

The one where the worker was fired for signing off from texts with lol because she thought it meant lots of love.... and then someone commented they heard that back in the day...back in the beginning of the internet it had meant lots of love.... LMBO!!! No honey, when we are comparing "lol" from then and now, and we say "back in the day" we're not meaning the early days of the internet, we mean way before the internet and the form of text being transmitted from phone to phone. "Back in the day" refers to modern times maybe 2 or 3 generations back, think 70s, 80s, but before cell phones, when students would write notes on paper and pass from one person to another until the intended person got it, or a person wrote letters because a long distance call costed way too much and/or the person you were writing was a childhood pen-pal (usually someone you only met once or had never met and names were exchanged between schools so students could have a chance to get to know someone but also learn about their state, their country, lifestyle, etc. So anyway, LOL did mean lots of love, but in a sibling or BFF kind of way, not like one was hitting on the other!!! Couples never told each other as a means of greeting or signing off or end of the night by saying lots of love, or LOL!!! LYLAS was love you like a sis, TTYL was the same, BFF was the same, TTFN I believe was/is the same, tah, tah for now, I guess is how you should spell tah, tah...lol!!! CYL, was see you later. Very similarly done, just the sayings of the times and/or the how often they are used plays a part in the differences from then and now!!!

So one week I came in and asked for my check as well as my schedule for the week. I swear manager didn't want to tell me that my schedule was literally cut down she just told me I was working the next day and the time nothing more. I was like ok I'll just come in the next day and look my schedule. So next day comes I punch in and I looked at my schedule not only did they cut my hours to nothing but they gave me one day for 4 hours and that was my shift right then. I was like I've had it. When they asked me to clean the bathroom as usual I had to convince my friend that I wasn't staying in this job. He agreed so before I left I went to the storage got BBQ sauce and went to the men's bathroom since there was only one man working that night and smeared on the door I quit. I walked out and never looked back they didn't even notice I left for 20 minutes before my phone started ringing wondering where I am but I didn't answer

Animal Husbandry: Raise chickens strictly for eggs. What you learn pretty quickly is unlike mammals, practically no vets have anyway to treat them.(At least anywhere near me.) So any issues you have to look up, make sure none get an injury/illness that caused the others to kill it, and god help you if you get a chicken that is ruined by selective breeding and ends up laying eggs internally. Have had 3 out of 15 do the last one. Once you know how to identify it, only thing to do is put in down.

Not a black Friday story, but when i lived in FL, a new walmart opened up and the first or second week of buisness i went there to get some things.. out of nowhere 3 latino guys came running in, and seconds later came running out of the exit, one was carrying a 300$ Printer, one was carrying like 5-6 reams of paper, and the other had an assortment of ink carts, these three men jumped into a beat up 70s-80s van and drove off, while 3-4 old walmart greeters tried in vain to stop em. I think to this day, that it was an inside job smash and grab, as the store was barely open for a month when it occured.

Am television writer/on set judge (*bing*bzzzz*) . So damn lucky to be BFF with Boss, will eventually hate someone in your department. Incredibly long hours that are insane for a couple hours, then nothing, then listen to every word from contestant to hear if answer is correct. Find out entire show needs changing, big boss goes home, you are still there until 2a.m. and go back at 7 a.m. You sleep if you get weekend day off. You miss every other show/movie for 3 months. Happily turns out family was secretly loaded and you have now retired. However, there have been amazing moments and weirdly have become friends with actors people have heard of. Have recently lost a former host who was hilarious and used to hide out with us a lot, because out office was off limits to the rest of the production, I really miss him.

I worked for a doctors office chain for a month and a half before they even hired me I brought up that I was a cancer survivor and have a lot of late effects and issues they said it was fine and I was hired about two weeks in I start having issues which ended up being in the er on st Patrick’s day I got a note to have proof. A week later I get an email I have a meeting with hr which ended up just being scolded and being told I’m on a hit list they gave me a week off to “figure my shit out” I took my week then before my shift starts wrote a really rude email including the person I did the meeting with and saying she pushed me to quit. A weights been lifted off my shoulders

The part about the faked exposes shows, that many companies require unnecessary expectations for applicants. Just for the job to end up as something everyone can do.

I have some form of weapon on me at all times at work. Thank God I work with 1 other person. I am more terrified of him than he is from me. We only talk in the office when no one has anything that can mutilate either of us or to go on site where there's witnesses.

Many of these are the exact reason why many companies do not want to hire young people. Whine cry and quit when asked to do more or aren't catered to.
