We roll them up, secure them with a bungee cord and rest them in a corner of the room.

How do you protect lampshades, accessories etc from becoming damaged during travel ?
@RevisionsMentor Жыл бұрын
We take lamp shades off and put them in our cars, not on the moving truck, strap lamps in with seatbelts in the car and our all accessories in big Tupperware bins to transport and store them.

Wife has a successful staging business. I’m one of those husbands who did not want my garage being used as storage. Purchased a shipping container and a cargo trailer for her. I’m now a warehouse manager 😳
@RevisionsMentor4 жыл бұрын
Nice! We live in the city so a warehouse container isn’t an option for us but it’s a brilliant solution for those who have the space! I love this idea! Kudos to you for being so supportive of your wife’s business! Lord knows, we wouldn’t be where we are if we didn’t have that support.

Who do you use for deliveries?
@RevisionsMentor4 жыл бұрын
Hi Gina! For small staging jobs we may rent a truck and do the inventory delivery ourselves. Most of the time we use our tried and true local moving company (we went through a few to find our perfect fit!). We know we can rely on them in terms of timeliness, consistency and quality service. Scope out the local moving companies in your area for best pricing and reliability! :) Jen

storage is my personal nightmare when it comes to staging. Storage is sooo expensive here in new zealand, looking at $1600 per month for 70m2 Storage is my one big problem with continuing staging.

That’s difficult. We had to get very creative when it came to storage.

How do you get the inventory for your homes up? When you have several homes that need to be staged within a week or so, how do you have what you need in stock to accommodate all of your clients?
@RevisionsMentor4 жыл бұрын
Hi Annesha! To be honest we find ourselves unable to take jobs on occasion if we do not have inventory available. If a client has a week before listing, we can usually shop and be ready to stage. If a client has 2-3 weeks prior to listing, we can order from our trade accounts. Thanks for asking, we love to help! Best, Jenny

@@RevisionsMentor thank you. This is great info! I guess my next question would be how to build a rapport for trade accounts? I'm new to this so I may not have watched that video yet if you've already talked about it.
@RevisionsMentor4 жыл бұрын
This part is not hard! Look at the furnishings you love, then apply online to become a trade partner! Most require that you show your tax ID to verify proof of your home staging business. All trade accounts vary in terms of benefits and discounts, so search around to find what fits best for you! :)

You absolutely can do it! If there are subjects that get you stuck, don’t hesitate to drop your questions in the comments and we will address your questions in our upcoming videos. Heather, a great place to source movers is the Facebook marketplace and by reaching out to friends and family who have college age students. We can usually get by with Jenny and me and two college kids when we are in a bind. -Erin

So impressed with your tips they are so functional.. As I am still new to the business wondering if I used vacuum bags to store throws and cushions, is it gonna be impossible to bring them back to shape ? As I am still using my house store room ..
@RevisionsMentor3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for watching! Vacuum bags are a great idea to preserve your inventory and save space in your storage space. I would experiment with the pillows and bedding and see if they get really wrinkly in those vacuum bags before taking them to a job. It seems like a lot do extra work and you’ll have to use a steamer if they’re wrinkly. Tupperware bins and trash bags work best for us.
