A mission play through from GMT's Storm Above the Reich is presented in its entirety. German and Italian interceptors are pitted against a formation of B24's on their way to a mission sometime during early 1943. Will the bombers get through?

Great video. Well done. I hope I can get my 68 year old head around the rules when my copy is delivered tomorrow. I have never been a fan of earlier GMT rule books as they have always made them text heavy. This does look quite interesting.....almost a dog fight management sim. Again, thank you for a great play through. Any advice on how I should start learning the rules? I would like to know how you learnt it.

I just got a copy of this game and this video has been useful.. taking a look at decision points, I feel this game is very lacking in them.. basically your decisions are sides, altitude , pass through path and then application of of advantage tokens. The rest of it is number generation

Hi Jay. Yes, that is my problem with narrative games. If I want to see a movie…, I turn on Netflix. But still, this one is a somewhat better than most and I confess to having fun with it. But it’s still hard to be the bad guys. - P

Hi WW2! It’s not hard at all; it’s extremely procedural, and the whole rule book is designed to lead you through playing the game. If you saw my 1st video, recall that the rule book comes out and says that you don’t need to read the rules before playing! While I’d suggest skimming them, yes after a mission or two you will have it. - Paul

If I were in somebody's air force back in the day, I think I'd go for a rotary engine over an inline any day. I don't like the idea of a single bullet to the cooling system bringing down the aircraft. A Corsair or an F6F come to mind. Maybe not a P47 -- little too close to a flying truck. -- Paul

@@theoakenknight1748 actually the P47D was an excellent plane they wouldn't dogfight the smaller nimbler German fighters but they would Zoom and Boom as it were...also the P47D carried 8 .50 cal. instead of 6 like the P51...

How can you use Maachi 202 fighters when Italy is out of the war by that time?

Hello Vortyx. Better fact-check. Italy did not surrender until after the Salerno invasion in September 1943. I think the game designer got this one right. - Paul

Are any of these bomber missions over Italy? Never heard of any Italian fighters attached to German home defense. Not saying that it never took place, but...

Early 43. Planes either flying from North Africa or Sicily. Salerno happened Sept 43...... I think.
