One of the best presentations of these balls I've seen! Really nice to see the weight block shown with the ball, and how it rolls down the lane. As if the knowledge could transform an OK bowler into a guy that ends up taking down E.J. Tackett, or Belmo......, in his/her own mad mind....lol

Hey Luke great layout. You can literally tell how the top of the weight block is revving up and then rolls out at the top of the ball 👌👌💯👍👍

@@JayPypeVox It was epic. However, it replaced what IMO is the greatest ball I ever threw - Storm ElNino XiT. The only problem with the XiT was that it was not invincible to improperly maintained bowling lane machines and had a brand new one chop in half literally when I had the front 5 during a league game. After about 10 minutes of hearing a loud cutting noise near the pins, a worker came back with the ball - both pieces. I never been so mad in my life. They gave me a free TraumaER, and while the ball was awesome, I always missed the XiT. The reaction was so unique. PRO-Thane MT coverstock was legendary.

Luke thanks for the comparison with the other spec cover balls. This ball does look stronger then the promotion. I can see this as a great 1-2 punch for me. It's time to preorder the gravity evolve. Thanks again. Luke 1 question you said in the video these videos were taking on lanes with a few games on them. What's it like on the fresh how many more boards does it cover vs the promotion? Once again thanks.

Rolled 300 with the OG Gravity Shift back in the day. It would sort of slow roll, get down the lane, then rev and finish with a beautiful heavy rolling arc. Matched my roller/stroker game perfectly. Not sure Spec will do that. I do want this new version badly, but am leery about the stronger cover on our big cliff THS. I'm not quite as consistent as you at playing 4th arrow. Need practice! What do you think?
@LukeRosdahl
@LukeRosdahl 5 жыл бұрын
S L Bennett Lol what you described as far as ball reaction describes what spec does perfectly . .
@LukeRosdahl
@LukeRosdahl 5 жыл бұрын
It's stronger but not flippier down lane, spec is exactly the kind of thing you want to blend a big cliff, that's most of the point. You won't have to play 4th arrow, it picks up but allows you to stay straighter at the same time because it's not so crazy on the back end that it's going to force you left like other strong stuff does

What's the difference between this and the crux prime? Rg and everything is the same on both balls at 13lbs.
@LukeRosdahl
@LukeRosdahl 4 жыл бұрын
Eh, once you get under 14, things start getting wonky, at 13 you start losing a lot of similarity of that weight to the heavier weights, so at that low of a weight, I couldn't even tell you. It's the same shape core throughout all the weights, you're not going to remove thumb mass from the core in the Prime, so it's going to retain more of the predrilled numbers, but at least in the heavier weights, the Prime is actually earlier, smoother, and chuggier, while the Evolve wanted to go longer and blend, but still punch a decent amount.

I miss the virtual gravity nano that ball was a beast.. i also miss my defiant by rotogrip that was my favorite ball. But im currently throwing a original black widow i bowled several 300 games with it but the core is dead it hooks but the pin action is horrible with it.. i also have the sure lock i love the sure lock that ball hooks super early but i think i need something aggressive in the back end and not so early rolling for house shot. Would you recommend me get this ball or is this early as surelock?

I throw it all kinds of different way except cranker i never could due that but i can play tweener and stroker very well its hard to ask on here ill just ask my nearest pro shop what they recommend once i tell them what im looking for.. i used to always get my balls drilled pin up and bowled very consistently with that kind of drilling still havent really had a pin down ball just really aggressive pin up layouts i guess i dont know to much about the science behind drilling a ball i just throw it and figure the ball out over time..

Watching your videos, your rev rate and ball speed seem to be similar to mine. Also, I believe you mentioned in your last live review video that you are rev dominant. I bowl mostly on THS during league. Your Westridge bowling center also seems similar to my bowling center. Will the Gravity Evolve be a good ball for me as a slightly rev dominant bowler. I don't have any numbers but my axis tilt I will say is low to medium. My axis rotation I would say is medium. Next question, for bowlers like you and I, in general, what types of balls, asym vs sym, cover stock types, RG and Diff etc. are good to use on THS and what types do we need to stay away from on THS?
@LukeRosdahl
@LukeRosdahl 5 жыл бұрын
skf boiler Yeah I’d say you’ll be fine. Spec stuff works well for rev dominant bowlers because it’s not as strong on friction as typical reactives, so it gives you that experience in a more controllable vehicle. Rounder shapes are what I gravitate to. Idol Pro, Idol Pearl, Phaze 2, etc.
@skfboiler
@skfboiler 5 жыл бұрын
@@LukeRosdahl Thanks for the reply. I think I see what you mean about rounder shapes. My pin down Soniq has as a very nice round shape for me that is working well on the fresh oil for me so far. I don't have a solid ball in my bag. That is why I'm considering something like the Gravity Evolve. Then move to the Soniq during transition if I have to.

How does the gravity evolve compare to a UFO
@LukeRosdahl
@LukeRosdahl 4 жыл бұрын
UFO is quite a bit more aggressive, and I don't just mean stronger, it's more proactive. The Evolve is a nice smooth and controllable big hooking ball, so it can look like it hooks less than it actually does. UFO just gets after it, it seems to hook quite a bit more visibly, but in reality, it's only 2-3 boards stronger.

Hey Luke, I am looking for a ball so that when my phaze 2 is either missing the breakpoint long, or is turning too hard off the spot, I can go into the new ball. One ball I've had success with is the no rules OG. I have around 400 revs, around 16-16.5 mph ball speed and like to roll the ball rather than spin it. Would thus ball or the crux prime be a better fit for me? Thanks
