On one hand that could be cool, but I always remember the mistakes/greed of the "old ways" of too much crossover: people only reading the X-stuff may now wonder why the Odin this is coming out of left field for, or feel Marvel is forcing them to read Thor books to get the full context. Besides, we already have a new walking mutant island backing Storm after being magically activated by Apocalypse. It could get to be too much in an already packed story.

I think one of the best things writers started doing was removing "complete invulnerability" and setting up more scenarios like "extreme resistance" and synchronicity. Characters like Thor and Storm have counters to their own powers, but they aren't intended to be 100% immune.

Ok, maybe it's a pet peeve, but I really dislike Thor's "heroes can do whatever it takes" discourse. This just speaks to me about the prevalent culture between writters that "everything goes, and this is so artsy", not because it's necessarily wrong, but because writters have been abusing so much of these (and other "for the art") discourses, that now feels very dishonest and conveys lazyness, uncariness and/or lack of foresight to me. Crafting a history that makes sense, clever solutions for troubles whose stakes feel real, or even just dumb overpowering, as long it feels impressive, cool, and maybe even emotional. All these things are part of the artistic aspect too, so yeah, throwing all of these and other aspects of creative writting in the garbage for a cheap "they are heroes, they can do whatever it takes to surpass the challenges" feels hipocritical, and makes for a very unsatisfying history at this point. Yes, we all know the heroes will win and the writter can do whatever he wants to achieve this goal, but that doesn't mean that the execution of this process has to feel sloppy and barebones like what I describe in the end of the previous paragraph. I don't want to hear how Thor, Superman, or whatever hero can do anything to save the day, rather than see them proving they can do it in a way that makes some degree of sense. Ok, after taking all of this out of my chest, I have to give due credit: Al Ewing work really doesn't feel like the sloppy writting I described, and the conflict against Toranos wasn't solved by any metanarrative deus ex machina (and after Thor and Storm talk, I was bracing myself for something like this). Again, maybe I am reading too much, but it really felt unnecessary tacky and ominous to me.
