Storm Pierrick 8 GO AROUNDS in Strong Wind & Heavy Rain at Manchester Airport! 9/4/24

Just a few days after Storm Kathleen passed through, the UK has been subject to yet another storm. Named by the French meteorological service, Storm Pierrick, a heavy low pressure system brought torrential rain and strong gusty winds with coastal areas of the UK being hit especially hard.
Manchester saw heavy rain and a strong wind from the North West with gusts of up to 40 knots as well as plenty of turbulence and windshear as reported by pilots arriving on 23R.
As a result, there were a total of 8 Go Arounds during the 6 hours I was filming with most sue to windshear and a couple a result of unstable approaches on short final.

This was definitely a difficult day for the crews operating the aircraft, the ground operations team turning them round and the air traffic controllers keeping them all safe. Not to mention the countless staff behind the scenes ensuring that this storm presented the least amount of disruption as possible.
It was also a difficult day for me to try and keep the camera equipment as dry as possible and to stop it all blowing into the many large puddles that had formed at the pub.

I was on the Ryanair flight (FR6839 - Prague to Manchester 09.04.24) which landed at 12:12 & we had a Go Around. It was ropey & 1 or 2 people threw up between our 1st attempt at landing & us actually landing.

I was on Corendon 737 from Antalya which landed at 12.55pm.Now we onboard felt like it was all over the place in the weather .Did you capture us landing at all?
