Nice work Bert. Our DPW just loves bowling balls dumped in the to be chipped mound.

Nice editing with a pile in the top corner. Always watch those leaf piles for spontaneous combustion 48 hours later
@BertsCustomCutsАй бұрын
I usually check the pile every day to see if it's heating up.

Great work Bert what's the plan for all the chips and slash material?
@BertsCustomCutsАй бұрын
Mulch for flower beds or spread on the field in fall or spring.

Are you gonna show harvest season for your crops this year
@BertsCustomCutsАй бұрын
Mabey. We are almost done with soy beans this year.

@@BertsCustomCuts Would be nice to see that corn coming off. Looks a stunning crop. You going to chop it or combine it?
@BertsCustomCutsАй бұрын
The fields by me were leased out this year to another farm. Im guessing it will be combined off.
@briannelson4493Ай бұрын
Bert with all the green leaves 🍃 in your chip pile in about 4 years you could sell dirt compost.
@BertsCustomCutsАй бұрын
Or just spread it on the field and get it out of the way.
@briannelson4493Ай бұрын
That old chipper serves you well Bert, is it about the same vintage as you. How often do the blades require sharpening.
@BertsCustomCutsАй бұрын
The knives hold up well if not running a bunch of dirty wood. I may pull them out soon to sharpen them.
@LoggerJasonАй бұрын
What are you going to do when you fill the bunker up?
@BertsCustomCutsАй бұрын
I used some in flower beds the other day. In fall or spring, it will get spread on the field.

@@BertsCustomCuts if you need to get rid of some send it with Chris on his next white oak load from up here

Chipper might be old but seems to get the job done ok. Bunkers are perfect for that stuff.
@GregPrince-io1cbАй бұрын
Bert, how old is that chipper?? 80's? the simplest machines often last the longest . I mean, shear pins, joint, teeth.... not much easier than that!
@BertsCustomCutsАй бұрын
It's old and nice not having much to fix when it breaks.
@robertblacksmith4355Ай бұрын
Great to have a chipper years ago farmers would have huge burn piles smoke everywhere they can't do that anymore!
@robertblacksmith4355Ай бұрын
Tree service guys put very large diameter branches in the Chipper I wish they would cut it up& leave it on the curb for firewood! 8" -12" inches ? They say easier less work for them!
@BertsCustomCutsАй бұрын
I dont disagree with them. It takes less time to chip than cut up and haul away.
