The coin with a hole in it, Jason from Modern History TV spoke about lead coins that were given to the working poor that the amount represented, ie; sovereign, could be spent at local food markets and the merchant would punch them indicating they were spent. 🤔. 🤗❤️🌈🙏🕊️

Just a thought, the stone you found with the grooves in it, may have been used to sharpen knives, or even been to used to sharpen flint knives or arrowheads. Hence the V shape grooves.
@kevinallen900911 сағат бұрын
Agree. I have a large Native American collection and I think that is a sharpening stone, but could have other uses as well such as holding cordage . I have seen similar stones called sinew stones but those typically have smaller grooves. So I suspect it is a sharpening stone

I remember using inkwells at school when I went into the senior school, that was in 1966, we were supplied with pens that were like a wooden stick with a metal nib on the end and we were given blotting paper too. We had to fill up our inkwells from a large bottle with a curled metal tube like a metal straw on the end. We were allowed to use fountain pens in the second year of the seniors, later we could use ball point pens that were issued by the school.

I remember those pens in the late 50s/early 60s. If you got one with a damaged nib they were a nightmare to write with! I still remember my biology teacher’s comment “ what is this , a most untidy last page! “ Considering she had handed me the pen I thought this very unfair especially as she deducted 10 marks from my workbook, this was 60 years ago and you can tell it still rankles 🤣
