I really enjoy your videos and loved the piece of pottery with the schwoos on it. I am ready to travel to Scotland in May. I can’t wait to check out Cramond and Musselburgh beaches. Hopefully I can also visit Limekilns. Keep up the good work lovely ladies. Sending best wishes from Melbourne February 2025

The catapult, we call it a slingshot unless it is the type that rest on the arm and that we wrist rocket. Cool finds ladies thank you!

Your shells probably came from the ocean around Florida and the islands south of there. There’s a channel called SWF Beachlife you might enjoy. She looks for unusual shells and takes a look at the creatures who make them. I thought when Alex put her foot in that hole to show how soft the ground was that she also stepped on her trowel, burying it. Are you missing a trowel Alex? There were so many interesting things to pick up. I know Caroline Johnson down in Wales would love to see all the pipes you left behind. She and Phil are on Friday evening and Saturday as well. The Saturday show is live where they discuss their finds and pose questions to the viewers. I seem to live on KZbin.

You ladies need to get some hand warmers for hunting in that kind of weather. Good luck!

The doll head would make a beautiful brooch if you think it too large for a pendant. Or you could do a brooch with a hidden bail so it may be worn as a pendant. Love the tiny bottles. ❤

Beautiful piece. I have to admit I was holding my breath through the entire mold-making bit, just paranoid that a finger would break off.

Well Alex the little animal bead you found is a pig. Hope you make a cast of it for jewelry. Great day. I always love your videis and also enjoy The Lost Diaries. Sometimes people would sell their teeth to make dentures. They had to be near pristine to receive money for their pain.

Nice little bottle - a mini torpedo! Gail, the dog is joy - what about repairing the hole with milliput or similar, painting the patch black and naming it accordingly. It is a cute object.

Always an entertaining and interesting video. The Oiler cap maybe something related to maintaining guns.

The Shell you found in this video, as well as the enormous shell that you bought from a woman, are both types of Helmet Shells. There are a few different types they could be- they are quite sun bleached and damaged so its hard to see any color, pattern, or how long the knobs would have been. A good way to identify an older shell like this (once you've narrowed it down to one genus) is to look up the maximum/average size of the various shells in that genus, and then measure your own and compare. >Horned Helmet Conch (Cassis Cornuta) average size: 8.7", 22cm/ Maximum size: 14", 36cm (the largest of the Helmet Species) >Queen Helmet Conch (Cassis Madigascariensis) average size: 14"-16", 35cm to 40cm (these are usually rounder with smaller knobs that either the King or the Horned Helmet. >King Helmet Conch (Cassis Tuberosa) average size: 10", 25cm/ Maximum size: 12". 30.1cm I think your other 2 shells are both Queen Conchs, and the smaller one is either a juvenile or just has the "wing" broken off (which is very common when finding those shells). Queen Conchs have an average size of 6" to 12" long (15.2cm to 30.5cm) and I own several of these, many of which are broken, and they look just like yours. I do not believe either of them are a fighting conch because an adult Fighting Conch's average size is 4"-4.5" long (10cm to 11.4cm), but its hard to gauge how big your shells are from your video.

from memory from a long time ago those shells where so popular that they became endangered in 70s and 80s like the abalone for its mother of pearl and the cowry shell

The big iron tool might be a type of farrier's tool. (I think I've seen something similar looking used for cleaning horses hooves, but I'm not at all knowledgeable on the subject.)

Endless treasures to find, especially with newly dug holes. Glad you could check them out between storms. Gail, I have an extensive collection of shells including conchs. For older ones like you have found, a mixture of muriatic acid and water will take off most of the calcium and crud. Start with water and add the acid until you see it begin to bubble, don't leave it in for more then a minute, you can always soak it again for another short time. If you really want to start a shell collection I'd be happy to send you some exotic ones, I imagine they are few and far between in Scotland. Stay well, love and hugs to you both 🥰🥰 xx
