Storm releases a ball pretty much every month. Because they pump out so many, discontinues are pretty frequent. The fate was in production for a year before it got the axe.

I agree. My Infinite cracked after only 14 months and I loved that ball. Went to get it replaced through Storm and they discontinued it, had to replace it with the Summit, which to me isn't as great.

I've got a dozen or so balls in the basement all SPI. Not buying anymore this year. Good grief how much different could they all be for 90% of us that are mostly on house shots with the occasional challenge pattern in a local tournament?

I feel like Storm is watering down their product with so many new releases too quickly. It's hard to keep up. I was about to get a Journey drilled last week and then stopped when I caught wind about the Sublime. Now I'm going to hold up to check the specs on these two new pieces coming out. If I had the budget to drill 6-8 balls each year, then no problem. But even then, are you allowing your balls to work themselves into shape if you are replacing them so often? I've drilled balls that have taken me about 15-18 games to finally figure out on how and when to play them.

Agreed. I'm was in the same boat as you. I was just about to buy a Journey.. all the new releases back to back makes it feel like your purchases are outdated. I was so frustrated,I bought a Black Widow hybrid instead. Lol

It's all relative... and yes, the market is over-saturated. But like any other company, Storm gives the market what it wants. At the same time, I don't think any company wants to pump out stuff so fast that the quality suffers though, because those who are actually "in the know" will eventually notice. Most of the guys I know who drill new stuff all the time, are using the f*ck out of them, bowling in multiple leagues and/or tournaments, and frequent practice sessions. Hell, I've put a dozen or more games on the same ball inside of 24 hours, lol. The only time it's pointless is for the guy with limited skills but he has money to burn, and can't live without the "latest and greatest" everything... yet he bowls 3 games a week, lol. That guy... and they're out there... probably owns 3 dozen balls, has no idea how to throw any of them, and remains convinced that success is just one more ball away. We can blame that on advertising and the disposable economy we live in. But while nothing can be done for that guy, Storm LOVES him, lol. And he looks the same on their balance sheet as any accomplished scratch bowler with the same size arsenal.

@@notonyourlife7939 quality? Storms last few releases have been nuts. Virtual energy might be the best bowling ball of the year. I get its opinion but that ball smacks. Summit is good, journey is amazing. The quality is there… I think selection is huge because everyone is looking or needing different things. I’m pumped to see summit peak.

Could someone maybe explain 🤔 to a newbie how these two balls compliment each other? Online it says both heavy oil, but I've heard having both of these in your bag could be great. I'm looking to finally get my first reactive, but I also wanna build me arsenal at the same time. So I guess my question is, worth it to have both?

With new releases coming at this pace I do not understand how pro shops deal with keeping up. I mean they just got the Virtual Black Out, Journey, TNT Infused, PI & Sublime is dropping soon as well. It seems like these will be overshadowed now by the new releases in Jan. 24. How does that give pro shops time to unload what they just stocked up on when people will be wanting the "newer" stuff and not buying the previous stock? Seems like your hurting them rather than helping them (and us). Slow down on the new releases already and let us absorb what's out there already.
