I just went to spirit today, and this on. I didn’t buy it, but I tried it in. It felt uncomfortable, and the vision wasn’t good. The quality was bad, but it isn’t the worst. If you wanted a cheap, first suit, then you can get this. But if you are looking for a better fursuit head, COMMISSION ONE!
@blitzobean5870Ай бұрын
Its crazy how intricate it is compared to other corporate fursuit heads from the past. Your video really detailed the pros and cons and gave me a good example of how it is. Love the content.

Great analysis on this mask. I think this would be a great "kiddos first fursuit" but that's about it. I agree with you that's it's not a long term thing, and that fursuit makers aren't at risk due to this mask.
@TheUnknownDergАй бұрын
This is definitely one of the more "high quality" mascot heads. Also ngl, I actually love the idea of cloth eyes for fursuits. I feel like they would clean much easier and colour-fading would likely take longer then ones that are painted on, plus, the material is likeley more "breathable" then regular plastic eyes, the only downside is you need to know how to knit/crochet,etc.
@AlPalCАй бұрын
For what it gets used for I can see why the vision in them would be so good. Trick or Treating is usually done at night so having the better vision in one of those is very helpful. They should have at least covered those staple with a bit of foam though.
@nicklubas6935Ай бұрын
I can see that for younger furs, I agree, this could be a start for them to at least experience what’s it’s like to be in a fursuit. Though $60 still seems to be a bit steep. But I will also agree that this kind of fursuit head does look more legit compared to some others in the past. And maybe people might redo them in their own style, if they choose to. And as always, great video! Much love!
@PriyodarsonoАй бұрын
You can get creative from that. Not only as a premade for starters but you can also make it as a puppet. Just made the torso, arms, hand, legs, foot & tail, then fill it with a doll filler, plus give the puppet mover (the part that make the puppet moves) and it ready for the show. Or as a live size plushie (without the puppet mover). I've a plan dor that before but that thing isn't available in my country.
@FurNieR11945Ай бұрын
This was an excellent analysis Stormi! I've watched a couple other videos on this, but none of them tried on the head like you did! And of course, your editing is on point as always! I really loved the jokes! The way you called it the toilet paper of fur at the 1:53 mark was funny, and also that pun where you used the actual name of the store at the 3:23 mark. I also loved that PROFIT MARGIN GO BRRRR part at 3:53! It really gets the point across that you're making! That part where you alluded to your dental health at the 5:09 mark was really clever when you were talking about the upper jaw quality! That way you did the foreshadowing at the 6:58 mark while talking about the staples was also good! I remember on your Twitch streams you talked about how the design of the head beared an uncanny resemblance to Stormi 1.0, and I like how you made a whole segment out of it at 7:27! That's a really funny way to highlight it with how dramatic you made it! Also dog breath is a very real thing and that little jab you took at it with fox breath smelling like burnt plastic at the 5:22 mark was nice too! I know you were being serious, but it made me laugh! You really have a way with words! I know the whloe thing with you not being able to read has been a gag on the channel before and I like how you brought it up here from the 8:40 - 8:46 mark with the Sonic bit which was cool! I know you don't show your face too often and feel self conscious about, but you look fine! I'm really glad you did even though the circumstances that made you do so in this video were unfavorable at the 9:55 - 9:59 mark. Overall, I really enjoyed this! It really reminds me of your old content where you used to do fursuit stuff a lot! This video was a very nice throwback in that regard! I know how you feel about fursuit content on KZbin being oversaturated now, and wanting to do more deep content, which I've really been enjoying, but I don't think it's a bad idea to do fursuit content like this every now and then when you feel like it! And yeah, these are definitely meant for kids as you said at the end of it. Great job as always on this! I can't believe it only took you 4 days to do this and you've STILL managed to keep it to the standard of quality you set for yourself with your videos! That really shows how dedicated you are to your craft! Keep up the amazing work!

My dad and I have always had trouble finding me a fursuit due to expenses. I had no idea about these masks until yesterday, and I was over the moon when I saw it then when I went to Spirit Halloween. I honestly couldn't believe I was dreaming. I'm not really interested in getting a fursuit, or at least my ideas of what I want out of a fursuit are, how you say, extremely unconventional, so I'm pretty sure I'm mostly on my own with regards to creating one to my specifications, at least with the budget I have available (by the way, aside from this mass produced fursuit head, "can't afford anyone's prices, so I'll make it myself by learning from available free guides and tutorial videos" isn't a horrible way to obtain a fursuit on a budget). IMO this fursuit head is useful for 3 things, 2 of which are in agreement with what you've already said in this video: 1. The likely intended use, going Trick Or Treating during Halloween. 2. A way to "dip your toe into the pool" regarding fursuiting. And finally, the one that wasn't mentioned, but is quite important, given that this fursuit head is as you said, likely aimed at younger furries: 3. It's a bit of a dogwhistle aimed at your parents, in that a fursuit head OF ANY KIND will tell a child VERY quickly what their parents think about the furry fandom as a whole ("eccentric but harmless" vs "an affront to their god" or whatever the usual negative nonsense is that parents with wrongly preconceived notions about the fandom might think). In other words, it'll tell the child if "you can tell me anything, kid" is the truth or a lie, which is a painful lesson to have to learn, but not all parents are as understanding as my own.

If only the toxic furries can come back to reality and realize what this fandom is truly all about. Supporting each other in our interests and caring and understanding each other. Who cares if they couldn't afford a masterful suit? Society already shuns those who aren't better/richer than them in many ways, lets not contribute to it and ruin the fandom! I don't agree with big companies taking over fursuit heads, but thats obviously not happening anytime soon so we need to chill, older and younger furs can wear or use these as their first base if they want.

That is a heaps awesome analysis of these factory made heads you did Stormi. Especially with the address of criteria of the masks from spirt Halloween that you brought for yourself. And even though there is no spirt Halloween here in Australia, I am jealous of the US for that. Besides. I would guess these heads are made cheaply at a factory and not from a fursuit maker and I’d rather commission for a fursuit than waste my money on a poorly made fursuit head. Apart from the claims of build quality and as a youngling who is very curious about mascots makes me question, where are those things when I was a kid. And I doubt there would be a build a bear business or company for fursuit heads or animal mascot masks any time soon. So Spirt they won’t compete with actual fursuit makers anyway. I feel like I’d be gatekeeping the joy of fursuiting if I am disgusted by these things. Because the end of the day, fursuiting should be for anyone who is interested in the hobby reguarless of income. And all you are paying for is the talent, materials and quality of the suit.

Spirit halloween did some of these in 2017 or 2018? There was a tiger and a minotaur that were decent, especially when refurbed for people that were interested in trying to make suits. It was about the time dino masks first released. We discussed them quite a bit on fursuit maker amino since spirit clearanced them to $30 after that halloween. A few of today's makers or more importantly 3d base sculptors were involved in that discussion.

I have a couple of these kind of masks and they don't smell. It might just be yours. To try to get rid of the smell just put it over a fan. if you want a real fursuit head that's going to run you well over a thousand dollars. You can easily spend a hundred or two on just some cheap crappy latex animal mask. Also You can find them for under $60 if you look around but $60 is not actually all that bad from a Halloween costume shop. So I would not do to much complaining about spending just $60 on them.
