Great video thanks & new subscriber 👍 Just discovered your channel following a 10 year break from match fishing & this is exactly the style of fishing I want to take up. Can't wait to catch up on your other videos for info. Thanks

Wow alan. What a catch. What a stamp of fish and great video. I thought ferry meadows was fantastic and you did it again. Ferry meadows is around 80 miles and milton Keynes around 100 from me in derbyshire but have to have a trip down. Thanks for a great film. Can't wait for the next one.

A nice days fishing Alan, shame about the weather, did you not get any Roach which weren’t shown? There’s some lovely fish in there, I need to go again as I was put off when they started putting pond pigs in

Michael Hilton, yes pal it was a great day for catching but not the best weather 😩 No roach on this day, but I’ve since been back and had some clonkers. 💪💪

Great catch Alan in testing conditions sometimes the bream like it that way tho..how far was the car park from your peg? Got a mate who can't walk too far if we venture down that way..cheers bud keep the vids coming 👍👍👍

Vinny Foster thanks pal glad you enjoyed the video. Unfortunately there are a few carparks but all of them are a long walk. I had to convince my dad to buy a new trolley because of this walk. Cheers

Thanks for the reply and info Alan we have barrow platforms so don't mind as they make lugging gear much easier..I'm yet to catch a double figure slab 👍

Hi Alan, I'm intending on fishing Willen next week if this rain ever stops! Are there any pegs you would recommend please? Looks like you were on the east bank close to the road. Is that accessible from the road or do you have to walk all the way around South side of the lake? With all the cold water going in recently would you fish further out than 50m? Would you also go for fishmeal & micros or a more traditional cereal groundbait with caster, dead maggot, corn, etc? Apologies for all the questions but I'm new to this style of fishing & it's a long trek to MK, so want to give myself the best chance possible. Many thanks, Paul

Tommo172009 Hi Paul, Willen will be a totally different place this time of year. I’ve only fished there a few time and the video I did was my first. And big natural venue in the colder months suffers from the fish shoaling up, so it can be very hit and miss if you get on them or not. I parked in the free carpark opposite the sewage works. You then walk back over the road bridge and down between both lakes. Turn right to fish the south lake and go back under the bridge. The first 100 yards or so have some trees along the bank, any of these swims are the best area at about 45m, as this is the old river bed. I fished at the end of the trees next to a life boy and bench. Fish meal ground and more natural baits would be my guess, but still put a few micros in and definitely take corn. You can fish for hours without a bite but then they move in and it’s non stop. Some good roach in there as well. Hope this helps, have a good one. Cheers

@@intheswim9809 thanks for taking the time to post such a detailed response, really appreciated 👍 I went there today & blanked! Was like tap water & I had a fierce westerly blowing into my face, waves hitting the bank. Could only hit 35m accurately & upto 50m was solid with weed so opted for the short clear chuck. Was barely opposite the hotel on your bank but much further down the bank away from the road. In hindsight should've fished further up as there was a point much further into the lake. Will definitely return as has lots of potential. Thanks again 👍

@@Tommo172009 that point swim used to be really good. I used to catch roach and Rudd with odd tench on the waggler around 20 metres out.

Beats me why you kept casting in the same spot knowing there was a weed bed and knowing you could lose fish. Why didn't you cast around with a bomb and find a spot that was snag free and not weedy?
@intheswim98094 жыл бұрын
Clive Bindley Hi Clive. I did exactly that when I first got there and did find one or two spots, unfortunately due to the high winds the weed was moving around. There was also a shelf about 20m out and all the weed was just blown up to this point right across the whole swim in the end. I didn’t think moving would help either as it would probably be like it along the whole section due to the conditions. Though day pal but perseverance paid off in the end. Cheers
@leejohnson2214 жыл бұрын
Clive Bindley there is a bank of weed at 20m along the whole length. It’s clear where he is casting but as you play them in you have the weed bank to negotiate.
