I'm guessing, since the death star exploded and the rebel base at hoth is gone, both the empire and the rebels had to under cut their budget for their weapons to inferior paint ball guns. And that the cost of it all was so great, that they couldn't afford enough armor for everyone of their units, while Darth Vader has to take a Van to get to work.

Thanks! We used the helmets that came with the Rubies Deluxe costume, but we popped out the eye pieces and attached the helmets over standard paintball masks, so you're very well protected.

Yes, we attached the the two halves of the face masks (which come with each costume) together with brass frasteners and then attached the masks to our paintball goggles with twist-ties fed through the holes in the mask and the open slits in our goggles.
