I’m trying to understand their more specific interactions, like approaching folks with lightsabers and phones. Unless the hand gesture commands is so complex that its like learning a whole new version of sign language. Because it’s crazy how the troopers have tons of generic canned banter but then will address a young guest as an actual kid.

Sam Paul Also, it’s a little strange that Disney opted to go with the sound board interaction. I’ve seen cosplayers in Stormtrooper gear at Comic-Con who would include a microphone headset in their helmets to create that ‘speaker distortion’ to their voices. Unless they don’t want to limit the cast members donning the suits, requiring them all to have that Stormtrooper cadence when they speak.

I think it’s multiple recordings and they are able to choose. You can’t hear them actually speak and the voices between those two are identical.

They’re voice modulations. I believe there is pre recorded lines but they’re given scripts to follow so that’s why they repeat some things a lot. But as you can tell they’re doing some improv here so they can speak freely
