Always come back here for a refresher....great job as always..... Duane was a great slide player as well as a great lead player..... he could do it all .....I'll never forget the first time I heard his lead on Loan me a Dime with Boz Scaggs....it sent chill's up my spine ....can you do that tutorial? Thanks again for taking the time to do this for all us Duane worshipers.....

Man, I lived and breathed Live at the Fillmore and these bending techniques. Dickey sparkles and skips across the top of the stream, and everything breathes and flows together. Duane steps in, stands up, and pushes back against the current, and everything turns in a new direction.

Duane was a slide player, he adds that mindset to his free hand solos ,the trick is what you think of playing you apply to the instrument naturally.

Nice job showing the nuances of Diana's bending techniques.. All done in a way that keeps one's attention to all that is needed to understand this style of expression. I particularly enjoyed not having to sit through needless babbling. So many "instructors" want to blow their own horn rather than teach viewers. I find the approach demonstrated in this video should be required viewing by anyone posting an instructional video as a standard to emulate.

It is great, but is it not a given that the solo should be played in full either before or after the lesson breakdown. It would seem the most logical thing to do. I am a little bit more experienced and would pick it up reasonably quickly.

Excellent video thanks. I discovered some differences in my "version" of Duane's solo. I never really ever sat and copied it but rather just played it from "memory." Oh yeah I almost forgot.. I was at those Fillmore East Shows. Both nights. Elvin Bishop Group and Johnny Winter/Rick Derringer did great shows those nights too. A friend was producing the "Johnny Winter And" Live Album (the double album with the blank 4th side) from those shows so we got free tickets. Did you ever do "part II?"

@@CenterStageGuitar Yeah I am an "old timer" guitarist at 70. Still rockin' on though. I keep one of my Music Man Silhouettes sitting here next to my living room chair so I can play whenever the spirit moves me. I do an eclectic mix of really long jam style tunes ala Dead/Allman's/Quicksilver, etc. I have to admit that it really has been a very "long strange trip."
