Introducing my high school life, where multiple times over four years, with several different groups of girls, all said, "There are no nice guys here etc this school. *Notices me reading at the back* Well, except for Jacob. But he doesn't count." Sometimes tacking on a, "Except for Jacob. But he's like everyone's brother. A really awesome and kind brother too." And other such variations. Definitely doesn't bother me anymore or whatever.

Right, so they thought you were wonderful and nice, but not in a sexual way to them. So you were seen as kind, but they did not want to have intimacy with you. Not that it is a competition or something, but I am in therapy because I was s-assaulted in highschool, not only by the (male) students, that would send me letters or threathen to circumcise me (yes, they were weird) but also by the teacher, when I was 12. I was either shunned or beaten up or groped and it left me wondering if there were any kind men (apart from my father) that would ever want me. I found one, when I was 15, who was lovely and sweet and he was more accepting of my 'annoying behaviour" and my fright when it came to touching. He did not let it scare him off when I panicked. As a matter of fact, when he was drunk, he would full on ignore any crying and just go for it. And then tell me afterwards I should have been more clear. If I wanted to talk about it, he'd shun me. I accepted that this is how I needed to be treated, because nobody else had ever done anything nicer to me. Except for my parents, but youknow, they are your parents. Skip to 8 years later, my art is being burned, my "friends" all turn against me, a.k.a. I am leaving the relationship. I get therapy, to deal with the rapenightmares, the PTSD and the endless vomiting and go to groups in which I speak to girls who's childhood has been similar. And as we all struggle with our life (avoiding contact with peers, sometimes encountering new men that we háve to trust, such as socialworkers, most of those end up preying on us or abusing the fact we are so clearly traumatized. People annoyed by your panick-attacks, people complaining about your vomiting ruining the mood of the day, PTSD-intrusivethoughts ruining your everydaylife with flashbacks on important moments like your birthday etc.) we conclude that at least we are out of that relationship and no longer have to worry about feeling obligated to give someone access to our body, even though in a healthy relationship this is ofcourse something you will always decide on yourself. So, as I said, it is not a competition and I don't want to minimize your experience. Because I can imagine that that hurt. But I just wanted to put in perspective what Í was talking about when I spoke about wondering where the nice men were. Nice men in that case, being men that respected me without an agenda that included my body. @@jacobhutcherson693

That story about the mom hiding the pirate treasure in her daughter’s sandbox is so wholesome and ingenious! It reminds me of how my own mother used to sneak little decorations (eg: glass animals, crystals, marbles) into my fairy garden as a kid as a surprise and encouraged me to redecorate the garden it in hopes the fairies would bring me more “fairy gifts”. It’s one reason why I love making mini dioramas and collection tiny things so much.

One time, during a band trip, we stopped at a gas station and she bought me a pack of gum. I tried to pay her back $1 but she refused. So, I slipped the $1 in her pocket. She then slipped the dollar in my backpack and so began the back and forth with the $1 bill. We found silly ways to give it back and forth. I mailed it to her house. She stuffed it in a gum wrapper and offered me a piece. I then decided that I would ask her out on this $1. I wrote, "Will you go out with me" on it and put it in a note and gave it to her. She said yes (of course, it would be a terrible story otherwise, I suppose). About four years later, I still had the same dollar kept away. On our anniversary, I wrote "Will you marry me" on the bottom of the dollar. We have been married for 15 years and have three awesome kids. We still have that dollar stored away.
