I wish they would hit two birds with one stone by making it sorta an AWL and a DS Cute remake. I grew up on DS Cute, and I've never played AWL. So part of me is happy that I can experience AWL this way, but the other part of me is so sad that I'm not getting elements from DS Cute. And since the games are so similar, I highly doubt we'll get a Cute remake. RIP Skye

I was pretty surprised they didn't do this as well. AWLSE was my childhood, but as a teenager I got Cute to play. It was the closest I got to Another without a gamecube, and while I preferred the whole experience of AWLSE there are so many elements of the DS games that were left on the table. So many marriage candidates and mechanics. It sort of blows my mind that Cody got this redesign instead of introducing Skye, who is the canonical 4th bachelor.

I love the focus on family for this trailer, getting to see the designs for your daughter growing up was so cool and I can't wait to see the dialogue they have for your kid. Also I'm glad the dog sote hasn't been changed as well I always liked it in the gamecube versions

Since there’s character customization and we can pick skin color, I really hope our baby will have the same. If I pick the darkest skin tone and marry Cody, our kid should be the same. Not like SOSFOMT where I married Kai and somehow we made the palest child known to man.

I'm going to assume they link the skin color to the partner. Wasn't there a point where they shoed cody and his kid, and the kid was in line with him. Usually, when it comes to character customization options they completely avoid that affecting other things.

@@heavennunya809 Yeah, one trailer showed Cody and his daughter she she had dark skin while the main player was white. I'm curious now to see if you give yourself dark skin and marry, for example, Molly, will your child look like Molly with white skin, or dark skinned with blonde hair. That would be a really cool feature if they added that detail.

@@heavennunya809 There was a point where they showed Cody’s child, but the child was noticeably lighter than him, I assume this is because of the mixing with the protagonist. So if you choose the darkest skin tone, your child shouldn’t be any lighter than Cody.

I'm pretty sure it's going to be like most SoS's and the child will take after the spouse. I was really disappointed with the SoSFOMT babies due to that change.

I certainly miss some old designs like the chicken and sheep, I guess I enjoyed how more realistic-ish they looked, but in the end I'm just really excited and hyped for this remake!

That area up by the pond looks beautiful! I love how much they're filling out the valley with detail, I think this is going to end up being a really good looking game. Even though it does feel different to me compared to the original it's still very pretty

This looks really great For some reason seeing stuff like the character creation & scenery give me inspiration for what I hope to see in other possible remakes. I'm not sure how to feel about the cooking(since the Mineral Town remake removed trying things on your own) but then again I don't know how cooking works in Wonderful Life.

I love Breeze, but I always wanted to hear the other music records, too! In the original game it was SUPER late game when you could actually get all the records that change the music on the farm. I hope we can get records easier in the remake!

I liked the customization options, it's always great to have more options. Despite not having played the original game when it came out, part of me is disappointed they didn't manage to keep the same tone. Nothing wrong with the colorful visuals but one thing I liked about watching footage of the original is how grounded it looked. It looked less like a fantasy game and strangely enough I tend to prefer fantasy games over realism. Perhaps it's the filters they placed over it but to me it's like they took a step back with the visuals. I do enjoy the sharper look of the characters and I'll definitely be getting it, that's for sure. Overall I'm unsure what to think of it so far although I'm definitely curious.

As someone who grew up playing the originals, I love the vibrant colors. I can't really enjoy replaying the originals because of how lifeless it feels. Though I can say maybe the colors are TOO vibrant for some, which is fair.

I’m so excited for this game! And the character customization! Forgotten/Forget-me-not Valley is my favorite HM/SOS setting and it’ll be fun to relive that era with an avatar that reflects who I am now. Psyched to marry Molly as a feminine character! I know that nonbinary gender options were teased when info first dropped about the remake, I’m wondering if that will just come in the form of picking neutral pronouns or maybe the more advanced customization that was available in Olive Town? I’m anxious to see!

The team that makes story of seasons is the harvest moon team. They just don't have the rights to the name 'Harvest Moon' anymore so they had to change the name

I assume they will make this work well on the switch only because that seems to be their main version, it was the only version we knew about for a while so seems they are focusing on that, lets hope as I dont like playing games on my PC. Now if only they would take a page from HM:Animal Parade or better yet, Rune Factory 2 and have the option of a new game+ or 2nd generation mode where you can start a new file/chapter (with added perks), but with your child! To be fair, RF:2 didn't implement it well, because none of your original characters skills/relationship meant anything in he new mode, but it would be cool if you could assign a game character (with high enough friendship with the 1st generation character) to be a godparent/"aunt"/"uncle" to your 2nd generation character. Edit: Oops forgot to continue the thought: And in the 2nd generation have new, or grown up children from townsfolk, for them to marry 😁

The translation/localization team working on this game is different than the team for the original so a lot of the names have been more closely translated to the original names in the japanese version

@@WilderOfficial oh cool, i never knew that! just looked on the harvest moon wiki and saw that, for example, celia's name in the original japanese is essentially 'sepiria', which of course would make sense to translate to cecilia rather than celia. how interesting!

One thing I'm hoping for is that they change the passage of time to not be so quick 😅 I love the harvest moon games, I have them--Still!--for Gameboy, GameCube, DS, and I loved A Wonderful Life, BUT I was always so frustrated I couldn't ever do anything socially in the first year because I was so busy grinding trying to get enough money to get the farm on a sustainable rotation with the crops, chickens, and barn animals, and time went by so fast and the seasons were so short I never got to do much socially, I only had time to race to gift Nami every day (Also would frequently miss my window to go to the mines). The only other complaint would be the mechanics about getting milk from the cow, having to get at least two on a cycle of getting pregnant and giving milk--I refused to spend money on another cow until I could afford a higher quality cow because I didn't want to fill my barn with classic black and white, so my first cow frequently ran out of milk long before I could finally fit in getting another cow. Those were the two things that drove me insane that made me prefer the Gameboy version over GameCube. Though I always thought GameCube had the better story--which made the fact I always missed the social side with the super speed time passing so frustrating.

I don't think we know officially, but in the original ones you could see multiple romance cutscenes your first year. Even if you proposed, you do not marry until after the year was over. I think the manual mentioned a jealousy mechanic of sorts to make it slightly harder to raise everyone's hearts, but I don't think it was impossible either. I imagine it will be the same.

@@lapislarka yeah it was possible to raise everyone to 4 hearts but it did have jealous systems that would lower the others. But if you didn't propose to one by the end you always got Celia if I remember correctly.

@@markos50100 I know Celia was default if you romanced no one, but I was thinking you would get reverse proposals with your highest heart candidate. I cannot swear that was a feature in all three, but I am pretty sure at least Another had it.

The original game was such a major part of my young adulthood, I die a little more inside every time I hear someone proudly call it Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life. It will always have been my very first Harvest Moon game, and even a remake will be Harvest Moon, to me, unless they sanitize it to the point of being unrecognizable (thankfully that doesn't look like the case!). "Story of Seasons" belongs to low effort, crap tier installments such as Doraemon or PoOT, as far as I'm concerned, and as someone who has lived in Japan since before the West had the problem that required the name change, the original series (NOT those awful Minecraft ripoff looking things that masquerade as Harvest Moon in other countries) will always be Harvest Moon, to me. Just my perspective. I'll never not refer to this as a Harvest Moon game, because that's how it began.

Love the editing jokes in this one they made me laugh. As for the trailer I liked seing more of the family scenes especially with the daughter. I never played special edition so I've only ever had a son in a wonderful life so I'm excited to have a daughter in this game
