I played at launch and dropped it because of all the issues you outlined at the beginning. I didn’t realize it got updated, so I’ll probably go back to it soon. Nice review, very thorough!

Yeah, the update made a HUGE difference, and I've ended up playing a ton of the game since. Still a grindy game for sure, even for the genre, but much more manageable now.

I’m going to be honest with you I actually got this game on May 17 2021 & I enjoy playing it from the beginning to the ending & I ending up married to Damon in that game & he is my favorite bachelor ever & he have the same age as me & me & damon drinking coffee & tea together & me & damon have a adorable smile on our face & Damon is very special in his own way & married to the same age bachelor was a dream come true & i really enjoyed the dlc for this game as well & I hope u enjoy playing the game more then I do this year in 2024

I love these game reviews so much!!! I've been so curious about PoOT since I cancelled my pre-order after the backlash from JP fans and never got around to trying it again. I love how comprehensive you were and how you went in depth on every category, saying what you liked and what annoyed you and just giving your honest opinion. The gameplay footage was great, and your character is adorable btw. Overall, you've helped me decide that this release just isn't worth my time. Not when I could just play 3OT again haha. That was my favourite installment in the Bokumono series and maybe my favourite 3DS game of all time. Just like you, I compare all the other games against it and it's pretty sad how none of them quite measure up. Do you think you'll review 3OT, too? Whatever video comes next, I'm gonna watch it ASAP! I love your sense of humour and passion for this series. The Mistel joke made me die laughing, and I resonated with you so much when you talked about wishing you could marry Matsuyuki.... He really is hot!!! Such a shame. Hopefully the next games are better, and I'm looking forward to the new Rune Factory, too. Thank you so much for making these awesome videos, and have a great day!

Sorry for the possibly dumb question, but which game is 3OT? To my knowledge I have all the DS and 3DS Bokujo games, and even the John Deer Tractor game that copied them, but I can't place 3OT.

I did feel kind of insulted by how regressive this one is compared to 3oT. I found the makers extremely frustrating and absolutely DESPISE how the farming/breeding works with it being a necessity to have multiple barns and sell animals for new generations. I found myself enjoying Harvest Moon: Light of Hope (yes I know about the split) more and I am still playing it whereas I haven't touched PoOT in over a year. LoH has different problems for sure depending on who you are, but personally for me the lack of character and farm customization and no same-sex marriage doesn't bother me. I'm having a lot more fun focusing on filling out the encyclopedia by creating crop mutations and cooking over 100 dishes. The marriage candidates are bare bones but so are the PoOT ones, LoH's graphics are last gen but still not terrible imo, and while I don't necessarily like that what product grade your animal gives you is RNG, I think it's better than PoOT's system. Also the barn and coop in LoH can hold up to FIFTEEN animals each.

How did you feel about the DLC? I did enjoy that they Added Ludus

I think my favorite part of the DLC was getting extra outfits. I use them a lot. The only DLC candidate I've already married in their original game before is Ludus, so it's nice for me to have the extra chance to marry the rest of them. I'm the most interested in Lisette. Just wish they would've put more thought into variety when they picked which candidates would be included, and that they would interact with Olive Town more.

I enjoyed this but like you I could tell a lot was missing etc and I'm sad because I really wanted to romance Lars 😢 and yes why can't I cuddle my pets dammit haha 😂
