I spent 3 years as a designated defensive marksman for Triple Canopy after 8 years in the 82nd 1st/504th. Working as a PMC was my first introduction to the .338 and its unparalleled accuracy, stopping power and consistency. A lot of civilians assume you would want the M82A1/A2 but in my experience, the MRAD is exponentially more suited for precision shooting.

I recently found out that a Ukrainian sniper set a new record for longest killshot at 3.8km (2.85mi). It took the bullet a little over 9 seconds to reach the target.

Even as a civilian that gear is able to be purchased and dramatically cheaper than that. Body armor and plates are 500 the rifle 5 grand with a year of ammo even a 50cal barret is 6 grand

Excellent video. Our gun club has Precision Rifle Competition. US Army and Marine snipers occasionally attend and compete. They are more than willing to give pointers to the civilian shooters. Very impressive people.

My thermal was 2400 my nvg was 3200 with hhv helmet n mount my ar is a ddm4 set up for nvg with suppressor it cost 7 k my tti Glock with suppressor was 4 k with optic n slide work n x300 v and still im not near 53 k

We don’t have our snipers measure distance with a tool like range finder to equipment like tanks APCs or anything like this because that piece of equipment may have the capability to pick up your infrared sensor and it will give up your position and possibly cost you your life.
