You know.... Your daughter will remember these days as really special and memorable ones. And she will remember that you faced calamity and challenge with bravery and wit... as a family. She will remember her parents as being among those who did not flee at the slightest hint of uncertainty. When your friends needed you, you were there. And they are here for you as well. She will remember her Mum being resilient, positive and strong in the face of hardship. She will remember her Dad as the man who can get any job done. She's learning all the right things right now. :)

You are very right, J. The mental trauma, though will remain in your subconscious for a while, being their helps heal and recover from it. Seeing things destroyed and rebuilt is therapeutic in a way and calming, knowing that what was destroyed can be rebuilt and replaced and the trees will grow again. It’s like dealing with a loss, you have to go through mental and emotional pain but eventually once you accept it, it’s easier to move on. ♥️♥️♥️ The £4000 target for the school is almost there! Thank you for doing this video. The donations are pouring in. When I first posted it on the 8MFH supporters groups FB page it was just £400+. Now the target is almost reached! Without a roof over their heads it would be difficult for them to beat the ever changing weather. It's kind of a rite of passage going through a typhoon here in the Philippines. Manila got doused during Ondoy and we helped rebuild with the same fund raising you are doing now. Through the years, our house got flooded inside 3 times. The last time was in 2020 during a typhoon up here north. Like you, our house was intact, but just a lot of water damage and cleaning up. Even now, some of my furniture still have the water damage warping that happens. It is what it is. It will be replaced when it totally breaks, I guess! AS you rightly guessed. There are things that can always wait. And there are things that need fixing first. For now, I am just glad the floors are dry. You can do this. By this time. hopefully our donations through various orgs are reaching y'all. Be well and stay safe! (at least the pandemic is far away from you)

I had to smile about the toilets being the safest. One of our farm tenants in Bohol had a toilet seat placed on the wood and mud floor that covered their septic tank. After the earthquake and Yolanda storm in 2013, we were actually surprised to see it still standing. And then someone tried to use it. 😆 Anyway, thank you for sharing with us a slice of your lives. It's amazing to see parents actually encouraging their children to play in the mud and rain and the fallen trees. Any Filipino parent would have screamed at such antics. You're not only being an asset to your community, you are showing people a better way to raise kids as well.

The kids on this video. This was how I was when I was a child, always outside climbing trees, helping clean the yard, especially after a typhoon. My adult self would be horrified at the sight of my young self just nonchalantly using a bolo and a shovel to clean the debris. I could have been just 9 years old when I would pick-up a bolo and just use it where I think I need it. It's scary thinking about it now, haha. Sometimes I wonder if my parents knew what I've been doing. But I think they know and it's funny thinking about it, coz I never got scolded for those.

You made a good decision to remain in the island rather than in Manila. There is more space rather than on a restricted place right now in Manila. Slowly the island life will be back and nature will once again flourish.
