I feel the names of the gurus in the stories are the the stages of evolution of a single person. To be able to be in yoga one has to transcend the stages gradually. I don't know how gurudev is making me understand these stories from different angle. I feel grateful for these stories they are making me understand the deeper meaning. I am praying to gurudev that I could slowly overcome my dark period and master the speech, eating and my mind and share this wonderful, amazing knowledge whose worth can't be calculated. Love you Swami ji and all my acharyas who have taught me the appropriate Aacharan till now and in the times to come.. I am blessed. Devesh

Dear Purnachaitanya, Greeting to you! What a beautiful story of Maha Rishi Patanjali, As all the Indian stories have very very deep meaning, this story also. At the heart of all teaching is the Trinity. Which three? Om Ah Hum. If Om is like the sky, then Ah is the sun and Hum is the moon; If Om is like a mirror, then Ah is the person looking in the mirror, and Hum is the image in the mirror; If Om is like the ocean, then Ah is the wind on the sea, and Hum is the waves blown by the wind; If Om is like a teacher, then Ah is the teacher’s sound, and Hum is the student who receives instruction. … These three are interdependent like reeds and cannot be separated from any one of them; as long as there is no one of them, it will return to zero. If a teacher does not have students, it is like the sun without the moon. There is only a luminous body without a receiving body. There is only what can be done but not what is done. Then the sun's own luminous characteristics cannot be brought into play. But if the sun cannot shine, then he will not be able to shine. Not called the sun. In essence, there is only one person in the entire universe, with no one to share it with, and the sun has no way to violate its own nature of shining, so it has to divide itself into two, with one being a teacher and the other being a student. The reason why the teacher cannot be seen is because the teacher is the center of the black hole. Once any light exceeds the event horizon and enters the black hole, it will be captured, because beyond that curtain, everything will return to one, nothing can be seen. All duality can exist only outside the veil. So when those students uncovered the screen, everything went up in flames. There is actually only one sun and one teacher in the entire universe, and because the teacher can appear anywhere, the possibility that it may exist everywhere makes those 1,000 students appear to exist, but they do not actually exist. Just like the electron cloud of hydrogen atoms, because of this probability that may exist everywhere, although it looks like there are countless electrons, densely packed around the center, there is actually only one electron; just like the sun emits light, it seems It seems like many photons make up the light, but in fact there is only one sun. The teacher teaches in a natural way and warns the students not to move around and to observe discipline, because the teacher (nature) itself operates in a perfect way, which is reflected in the specific way of forces. These 1,000 students represent human beings who think they have free will and think they have a self, and they act recklessly, which greatly disturbs the original perfect operation. All karma operates under strict laws of cause and effect, it seems like this, but if you know that karma is not real either, karma is just the way to hold the knowledge, then the teacher can become the student again to balance the karma, because this is the only way. When you understand that karma is empty, then you will always reach the most essential core. In fact, not only teachers are looking for students, the students are also looking for teachers, just like me now. Padmasambhava once said: "You must find a guru." I didn't really understand what he said until I was writing this letter. Students look for teachers in order to become the next teacher. Even if you have all the knowledge, if you don't use it and pass it on, then the knowledge will enter the belly of the goat.

One thing that amazed me is, may be the 999 devotees burned to ashes so that there can be just one version of yoga sutra. Afterall Narayana knows all what's going to happen. Your this inatiative will help us and future generations to understand the root of spirituality. jai guru dev!

Must have faith on the master... Master is always with us. It was beautiful when I heard that Guru became a disciple of the disciple to free him from karma and later when Adi ShanakaraCharya reached to Gudapada for master he directs him to Govinda Pada... We have to be aware of the knowledge when our buttons are pushed. Guru doesn't love everyone equally but Uniquely 💖

Dear petit mahatma, thank you for share this wisdom, the one of thousand left the room cause the nature call, not for wish, when he return to the area, everybody left burn he didn’t burn for the nature call but he violate the law, the discipline, Patanjali just convert him in ghost, if you broke the discipline you will kept ahead if your intention was real, if not you fail. The other 50% of the knowledge, you must learn by your effort and the grace. Yoga is discipline and the union with de Divine, you learn if you love and for love

Hi Swamiji! There are stories in the Bible where Lord Jesus says that the servants of the house must be ever vigilant and aware when the master leaves and puts them in charge of his house: "Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning." I was always confused by this, and didn't know what it means. But hearing this story brought so much clarity! When you told about when the boy, young Govindapada, fell asleep by the river and the goat ate half of the leaves, I realized what the meaning (or maybe just one of the meanings) of what Lord Jesus was trying to say! He was saying that when the Master gives you Knowledge, you have to stay awake and cherish the Knowledge in your heart and make it a part of your expression and a part of your life. If you fall asleep, a goat might come and eat up all your Knowledge! Whatever is given to us by the Lord, we need to cherish it, and do the most possible good with. If we are bestowed with Knowledge, we should spread it to others who are sincere and truly want to know. If we are blessed with Love, we should expand our Love so that it encompasses all of the creation. If we are given Peace, we should carefully cultivate it so that we can spread it to everyone around us. Thank you for sharing this story Swamiji. I have been wondering what this Bible verse means for so long and because of you sharing, I now have a glimpse of what it means.

I"m so appreciate for the story and its interpetation. Since 2013 it has been a very intriguing riddle for me - why there was a curtain between Patanjali and his 1000 disciples. I had another version. Now I know!!!!
@nisargjoshi97704 жыл бұрын
Jai gurudev! It is a beautiful story and I would like to share one interpretation that I felt would be right. I was confused that if we don’t doubt the master intellectually, then how will we know that we are learning from the right person? Like in this world if we learn from a gangster or a corrupt person, we will become like him. But then I recalled the beginning of the story where Maharishi Patanjali went around to choose 1000 students to bestow his knowledge. So, we don’t need to worry coz IT IS THE MASTER THAT WILL CHOOSE YOU OR HAS CHOSEN YOU. We have also heard Guruji saying that lot of times. If you have a corrupt master it is either because of your past karma or because you have a role to play, there is a bigger purpose behind it. So, DO NOT DOUBT YOUR MASTER.
