When i worked at hooters in west phoenix one of my regulars waited for me till i got off work. Mind you i was closing so i got off at around 3ish in the morning. How the hooters is set up is the entrance is near the main street road. Normally i always walked out the main entrance especially because its closer to the parking lot. The back way you have to walk behind the building and then to the parking lot. This day when i had went to work it was busy because it was wing Wednesday and i had parked in the back. This day my manager had locked up all the doors except the main entrance doors. So when all the girls clocked out we had to walk out the front doors i didn't think to much of it. Thats what i normally anyways. But theres a circle k next to our hooters. So i already knew people would be either getting gas or stopping by circle k so i didn't think much of it. But when i started walking to my car. This car was parked by the circle k. I had thought it would be a circle k workers car and i personally didn't mind it any business. So I'm walking to my car and you can hear behind me the car door open and shut quietly but i didn't look back. Just because its a circle k and i thought maybe i was tripping it probably was a customer for circle k. But you could hear foot steps coming towards me and mind you my car is parked in the back but it was in views sight. i had a co worker who is also my friend who's car was parked behind the hooters building. Where my car was you couldn't see my friends car. We had this religious thing if we closed together we would go to filiburtos to eat because its the only thing open other then ihop. When you work at hooters lol for me and her we always ate wings so we would always eat out after work. So she was waiting for me because i was the last one to clock out. Meanwhile I'm walking to my car the footsteps got closer to me and then i heared my name as I'm turning around the person had grabbed my shoulder. Mind you i didn't know it was my regular until i fully turned around and seen him. Anyways he had said we should go do something while still holding onto my arm and I THANK GOD my friend/ co worker was waiting for me because she got out her car and was like taylor are we still going to filaburtos and as soon as she stopped talking he had walked off and got in his car and took off. I don't work at that hooters anymore but i completely understand where your coming from with being extra cautious while working at hooters.

I live in Dallas too lol I know the feeling! I was with my cousin in downtown and this homeless man walks up to us and asked us for money. we had said "Sorry man we don't carry cash sorry man." This homeless man started yelling at us my cousin and I we walked away this homeless man followed us ALL THE WAY TO THE CAR! and I yelled if you don't get away from us I will Pepper Spray you that is the only reason that man did not get close to the car. But downtown Dallas is very crazy at night you can have a lot of fun but you got to be with a group of people that's a lesson learned on my behalf.
@elch4kl7315 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily just at night! Crazy stuff can happen at day time also, I live in dallas too, but more on the outskirts of town(pleasant grove) while my sister is 16 and has a school job downtown and she sometimes feels scared and anxious because of the people that can be on the train she uses and also on the sidewalk outside her job. I don't know why she still doesn't carry anything to aid for self defense.

@lakebay9727 жыл бұрын
Hooters is slang term for the female breasts. The owl is the symbol because their eyes look like female breasts and they make a hooting sounds. The word Hooters in this case is a double entendre. As for the restaurant, it's a place where the servers and bartenders wear tight tank tops and short shorts to feature their breasts, legs and butt accordingly. It has a spectator sport atmosphere, a place to go to watch a game, drink beer, eat chicken wings and more.

Ladies if you think someone is following you, NEVER LOOK DOWN AND TRY TO NOT LOOK AT THEM!!!! You look them in the face, you make sure they know you know what they look like, don’t make yourself look like an easy target, make sure they know if they come after you that you will put up a fight. Never try to act like you don’t notice them. Rapists and all criminals are opportunists. Most of the time (unless they’re absolutely crazy or on drugs) if they know you’ll put up a fight they won’t fuck with you.

Wow! Opposite experience! My store was pressuring us to talk to our customers and it would get awkward because some people just aren't very talkative, some people really just go there to eat and eventually you're gunna run out of stuff to talk about! I wish they didn't force us into having social situations with people!

I worked at the Lansing Michigan hooters for 2 years and we had all the same rules, don’t wear uniform in or out. But our management highly encouraged us to sit with our tables! They said it was part of the experience. Our uniforms went up to a small as well. I had some great regulars but there were for sure some downsides of the job.

I’m glad you’re safe🙏🏽 I worked in downtown seattle. from the place I worked, to my bus stop, it’s about ten minutes walk. It’s busy streets. But there’s one block, that’s covered with bushes and trees. One night after closing, this only around 8pm during winter, there was someone following me, and right behind me, I ran for my life until I reach the next block that’s more light and people and cars. Scariest experience I’ve encountered.

When I worked at hooters (also in dfw area) one of the girls got followed home after her night shift and they robbed her and held a gun to her head and stole her car! She had to move too because they now knew where she lived. It was pretty scary honestly.
