"I know who you are. You're a thief!" That kills me! She reminds me a lot of my maternal grandmother, who was a teacher. She didn't put up with any bullshit. To this day, her former students recognize her and call her by her nickname "Sarge". Tough lady who grew up on the North Dakota prairie in a sod house. Her father was a Swedish immigrant who mined coal for a living. Her birthday is in a week! I miss my grandma, wish I could take time off work to travel across the country to visit.

My grandmother passed away this year just a few weeks after her 96th birthday. I was able to visit her several times in the last few years, and many talks on the phone. Of course, it was never as often as it should have been. However, her last birthday was very special, all of her children and many of her grand children and a few great-grandchildren were able to visit one last time. I am sad she is gone but glad she is at peace and is with grandpa now. Cherish your loved ones and each other.

Dom Draws except for being a rude kid to her mother, the grandmother reminds me of my own grandma. she stood up to an alcoholic father who constantly pointed a rifle at her and her siblings' heads. she took no crap from anyone and was there for me when ever I needed her. she died from mad cow disease on my younger brother's 18th birthday. I currently live with grandpa in her old room. I don't let anyone sit in her recliner unless there are no more seats left. other than switching out the broken t.v., I keep her room the same, though she'd most likely yell and kick me in the butt for not keeping it very clean. (laughing softly while trying not to cry). the hard part for me is, she protected me from other members of my family who would just ignore me or just refused to be there. if she had lived another 2 weeks she would hav died on MY birthday.

Lol her reply to him was definitely a savage one 😂 The bald-headed part kinda reminded me of my own grandparents’ backstory. So I just want to say we are lucky to her her story and carry it on for future generations.

When I was a girl, I asked my dad about a jar that was right next a picture of an old man at my grandma's place. He told me that jar was an urn and it had my grandpa in it. I didn't really understand until I was much older why that urn was there. The urn is in the living room in her home right next to where she put the christmas tree every year. I don't remember my grandpa, he died when I was really young. It's kind of her way of letting grandpa watch me and cousins grow up because I've had almost every christmas at my grandma's place and I forgot a long time ago how many presents I had gotten or all the love my family shared.

This animation came onto my PBS station to fill in time between a full program and the next... I was only vaguely listening to it until the mother said she had worked at Bloomingdale's. I thought about my time there in the mid 70's and suddenly realized who this was. Kay Wang worked out of the Bloomingdale's Security office that was just across the top of the stairs from the Buyer's Offices for Bloomingdale's Cosmetics. I remember wondering how this small woman could be formidable enough to approach shoplifters! After listening to this, I better understand her character. I also remember her telling me, in one encounter, about how they picked up a shoplifter and once in their offices, realized the person had mental issues and was carrying around a substantial amount of cash in her pocketbook. I believe the outcome was that they helped her put the cash into a bank account and reunited the lady with her family.

I'm 15, and I usually never cry over anything. Didn't cry during Marley and Me, didn't cry during The Notebook, just, basically, any type of sappy movie you can think of, I wouldn't cry. This made me bawl, for hours. Maybe it's because of the fact that I only have one grandparent left, and that we rarely see her, and that this reminds of her, and the fact that she won't be here for much longer. I don't know, all I can say is please keep up this fantastic work.
