I don't know what the other comments are talking about. I think the cast is pretty spot on. The actor for Miyamura really did seem like a nerd at first, suited the delinquent style, and still had a pretty cute and fluffy aura. Also, having live action movies is a great means to have the story of anime/manga also be told to people who don't really watch/read anime/manga. The target of live action films aren't solely for people who enjoy anime/manga and it's great to share the story with other people. To say that it wasn't needed is quite harsh tbh.

I just watched the live action now and I liked it. I've never seen the anime or read the manga but this has made me curious to check them both out. Based on the comments, there's some changes from the source material but that's the case of any adaptation. 1:1 adaptations are a rare thing. There's always going to be differences.

This looks like a cute little series. I haven't kept updated on Anime and JDramas as much as I used to (not being able to easily access them from the US, with English Subtitles, probably has something to do with it). Something I might look into. I looked into the cast list of the Live Action and the actor who plays Kyoko's father also played a character (Nakao) in the 2007 version of Hana Kimi (one of my favorite JDramas). The mispronunciation of Japanese names did bug me a little bit. (I was an ALT in Japan for a few years so pronunciation was important when it came to other students and teachers) Kyoko = Key Yoh Koh Souta = Soh Tah Remi = Reh Mii Koichi = Koy Ee Chii Sakura = Sah Kuu Rah Kyosuke = Key You Su Keh Yuriko = You Ree Koh Tanihara = Tah Nii Hah Rah
