This is one of the very best game preview videos I've seen. Thank you!

Appreciate the deep-dive, Maggie. I think this narrative-style game is right up my alley. I love the production quality and artwork, and being a dice chucker from way back, I think I'm going to enjoy this.

Great video! I love a honest review. Even though the game is not for you there is an audience for it and you pointed out who would like it❤❤❤❤❤

did you even play that??

@ Mythwind? Yes, I played as the merchant. It was a nice, slow paced game that I had some fun with.

She did an amazing job! Where it’s not the game for her she did make sure she explained who would like this game. Just from this I’m going to be a backer ❤

Thanks for the preview. Looks like something I would enjoying playing, yet I appreciate how you explained why it may not be for you and still highlight it's strengths.

Thank you, Maggie, for the honest and VERY informative review. Most of the content creators I started watching 3 or 4 years ago have gone so deeply into sponsored content that they are just commercial hype machines. While I respect the need for a sustainable business model, I don't get much out of many of them anymore and have stopped watching and backing crowdfunded games. This type of honest coverage is laudable, and I applaud both your channel and the publisher for doing it. I wonder about a few elements of this game: 1) How sandboxy is it? Does the push you down a particular sequential path, or does the player have real agency? 2) How replayable is it? Is the replayability only after completion, or can chapters be replayed as you go? 3) Is there enough player controlled dice mitigation to make the game a bit more strategic/tactical (like Castles of Burgundy), or is it basically a dice chucker (like Final Girl)? Thank you again for all your great content!!

This was incredibly helpful. What I’m looking for in this kind of game is a cosy, narrative experience. Seems like that one is not for me either then 😊

Wow, hadn’t heard of this! I wonder how it compares to Eila and Something Shiny.

I appreciate that you gave us an overview of the game, AND that you tried to provide an honest and balanced review (even though it is just a "demo"). I'm getting a little tired of paid previews that are basically ads where people don't provide their opinions (when they do in other cases). I think reviewers should stick to reviews, or lead with the fact that they aren't going to offer an honest opinion (in the title). I think it is too bad when someone whose opinion I respect (which is why I watch), is prevented from freely speaking their mind. What is there to hide? I don't hold it against anyone if they choose to withhold their opinion to make money as an advertiser, but I don't like when someone plays both sides...and I don't know which I'm going to get. I unsub those now...nothing against the people, just not the content I am looking for. Let the publishers do an overview; let the reviewers review. I don't think this game is for me, but the video about the game was. Thanks!

Appreciate this comment a lot and agree with also wanting to have the honest and balanced feedback. Not all games are for everyone and therefore points on who a game may be for is something we appreciate as well.

The layout and graphics style reminds me a bit of Spirit Fire. Will be interesting to see how they both turn out!

Regardless of how I feel about OP, this video is top tier quality. Very well explained and obviously a lot of prep work went into it.

I love the artstyle and theme and to me it seems like it would be a nice and perhaps challenging experience. All the things that is not personaly for you I don't mind. The thing I worry about is replayability. How many different "paths" can you take in the game, how many ways to reach the end? Once you have completed it, is the journey satisfying enough once you know what is around next corner every choice... It looks lovely though. =)

Very valid comment. While we will have branching paths and replay ability cards that are unlocked after finishing the story for the first time. It will definitely vary for each player if they find the puzzle and mechanics interesting enough to play the game or even a chapter over and over. Thanks for the feedback!

@@OpenOwlStudios I'll add it to my wishlist for now. So far I have no true solo games and mostly been thinking about getting Final Girl for that when the time comes but this one seems to spark my imagination and interest as well. So I might end up with two solo games in the end (or more). Time will tell. This looks gorgeous. =)

A beautiful game! Graphics are evocative and mechanics interesting. But there is one big flaw for me. The play once aspect. I get you can have a lot of time playing through all the chapters. But, if someone has a play style that always likes to restart at the beginning, I can’t see much replay-ability. Not unique to this game. Which is sad for me, because it is so beautiful to put on the table. I will keep an eye on it though. Great review and presentation.

That's a great comment. The game will include some branching paths as well as unlockable cards for replay ability as well. But understand the comment as well from a gamer's perspective and that it won't be a game for everyone as well. Appreciate the feedback!
