Luckily my mom and I have always been open so we had this conversation early. She was like I'll be a little disappointed but if there's anyone in the world you should tell something like that it's your mom. And when my best friend in middle school got pregnant she was super scared once I told her talk to my mom about it and she spoke to her. She could talk to her mom and also saw things from her parents perspective. I'm lucky my mom and I have always felt free enough to talk about almost anything. Nigerian parents are not all bad. They just always want what's best for you regardless of how that comes.

That's just a man's empty sex line that women keep falling for. I too have been told this but I never left myself careless for that to happen. Maybe my head was too screwed on from very early cas there's no way I could get pregnant on accident. my rule has always been if we are not married no bareback sex and plus there's always family planning. Men will say anything in the throes of sex but it doesn't mean a damn thing but women get flattered by it and I never understand. When he says "Mi a guh breed yuh" i smile and say "that's what you think" in my mind.

Lmaooo. I do not think Nigerian moms are not open. I think they have high expectations and do not want their children to struggle. Yall have to reminder that growing up in Nigeria 20 years ago was not easy. They learned the hard way and want their children to have an easy life. No one wants their 17 year old pregnant, Nigeria or not but girl I feel you! Nigerians could definitely wok on being more open minded with their children, once mistakes are made, it about support and moving forward. But it is out of love
