I feel like if Austin would have opened his mouth to say something to defend Paris, it would have caused more problems. The simple fact that this woman was clearly crazy, delusional and racist towards white and black people dating. The fact is that she saw him as a lesser than Paris because he is a white male, and she is a black female. So, for him to try to argue with her would only cause more conflict. Anything Austin would have said would be accused as a racial slur. It's probably best that Paris took control of the situation and handled it the way that she did.

This hit home for me, my mom is white my dad is black so growing up I always heard stuff like this about my family ...but my story is my great grandfather and everyone before him was racist, his daughter(my grandma) was not racist, so she married a white man, had kids and now has 12 grandkids and 8 out of 12 of us are biracial..my great grandpa(racist) he was really angry to find out his first great grandchild would have a black father, he was angry because that means a black child...he disowned my aunt and my cousin, until he saw my cousin as a baby and thought she was just beautiful...at that moment all his racist way began to disappear..he died a new man, loving all of his biracial (black) grandchildren

To be fair, if Austin would've said anything, he would've put you both in a deeper hole. As a white person, trying to defend yourself or others in that type of situation is impossible. There have been times where I was sitting in class and people started talking to me about systemic racism, and even though I agreed with them and made no objections, they said I couldn't have an opinion and just yelled at me. They put me in a conversation I could not win or be even equal in. I was so uncomfortable being yelled at for things that don't relate to me. I'm only third generation American. My great grandmother migrated from a German farm in Russia just before world war two. But I get blamed quite often by people just based on the fact that I'm clearly European white. So, Austin was probably saving you both from any worse. In those situations, I've learned to just shut up and take the criticism, because it's better than being threatened to get jumped after school over it.

My best friend is black and I am the pastiest pastey white girl that has ever walked the either. Her and I are both from California but she is more for inner city LA and I'm from the outskirts of LA. Not so much city life. Together, we make a perfect team. But seperate we are COMPLETELY different. In high school, we became friends because we were both in choir and were those annoying ass girls who never stopped cracking jokes and talking shit about the old ass choir teacher but people always had something to say about our friendship. How it was out of charity. That it was fake. We went to Venice Beach one time and we got some of the nastiest stares from people it made me so upset on the drive back home. (This next part is hella cheesey but bear with me): Every Martin Luther King Day we post something about each other. To some people that may seem extra but to us its important. Our lives may not have crossed paths if MLK didn't make the moves he did. If we didn't have black, white, asian, and hispanic civil rights activists who paved the way for racial equality. Obviously, I know times aren't perfect and there is still a bunch of fucked up shit that happens to people of color, but our friendship isn't defined by the color of our skin, its defined by the content of our character. I'm sorry your friend didn't stick up for you, rain or fucking shine you better believe my best friend sticks up for me and I stick up for her.

I got chased before for being in an interracial relationship... One random guy started screw facing me and started chasing after me and my man. I am scottish (white) and my husband is african (black) and we have two mixed race children together. honestly we don't even see that we are different races most of the time because we have combined the two cultures to make our family full of love and peace. there is not one ounce of racism in our family because we believe that race doesn't matter and we all look the same inside and whats inside matters the most so why should it matter what we look like outside.

im a black girl and I live in Edmonton Alberta and I have a white bf. we hung out at West Ed mall one time and this girl in maybe her mid 20s came up to me and just gave me the most disappointed look on earth and said " why? why r u dating a WHITE man instead a BLACK one? hmm y r you so ashamed of urself that u would throw away ur culture for him." mind u I have never seen this woman b4 and I was wearing my natural hair and a shirt that I got from my home country. basically what happened to u happened to me with this lady just goin on and on personally I found it kinda funny so I just looked at her but my bf was getting irritated and spoke up being all like " are u her mom? her dad, brother, grandma, anyone o importance to her? no then y r u speaking to her like u know her. just because she is dating me doesn't mean any of that bullshit u just said. now please b4 u came here we were having a nice lunch, bye now." here I laughed so hard. case she looked at him shocked as to ask how he has the audacity to speak to her, like she that haha. I just looked at her and said " I'm not ashamed of who I am, I live myself and my culture, I love the country I'm from and even though I love those things, it doesn't mean that I can't love a person of a different race, that also means that I don't have to trow my culture away in order to date another person of a different culture. I'm sorry I don't meet up to ur standards miss but as my bf said, ur not my mom, dad, gran or anyone of importance so ur standards don't matter to me." and with that my bf and I left where we were sitting with her yelling behind us at how ashamed my ancestors r.
