Chizzy as a 50 year old woman let me tell you.....never call or reach out to find out what is going on with the plans if he was to get back to you. The fact that he changed the time to later put you in the position that you did not want to be in in the first place....not a late dinner thing. You should have just canceled with him and tell him when he really has the time to really do a date he can let you know. If you are available you will consider it depending on your plans. I wanted to leave, but I couldn't because he picked me up and drove us there (last time I let a guy do that on the first date). Back when I was in my early 20s, there was no such thing as an Uber; you had to call a cab, and I couldn't because I didn't have any cash on me 🤦🏾♀️. So I had no choice but to stick the whole date out and let him drive me home.

We got pulled over on way to mall because he was speeding and driving like a maniac. Idk how we didn't get searched. But I ended up just wanting to go home but he wouldn't take me back. I ended up having to call my sister and have her come get me from the mall. He was trying to talk me into staying. I was like idgaf what u do but I'm not riding with you while u drive like crazy got your windshield tag out of date and riding dirty. No thank you. You do what u want but don't drag me into that. Firstly, I am happy you are safe and able to tell this story! Hopefully, this experience doesn't turn you off to dating because there are some good people out there, but you just have to have your guard up a little more and not be so trusting. That date was a risky situation and you are wise to cut off "Jess." Never "go with the flow," trust your intuition. It will save you from a lot. It honestly sounds like the start of a tinder swindler situation, scammy. 😂These scammers depend on the word of honest referrals to gain access to their target. I suggest having more people around you with discernment and that will do a better job of gatekeeping access to you. Also, vetting or googling a person goes beyond just finding their social media accounts (i.e. Linkedin) because they can makeup anything there. For example, if you found that he worked in a company or attended a school, cross reference it with the company/school website.

As a woman, I also don't date a lot so things like tipping took me time to learn (I feel horrible now in looking back, I don't think I tipped my waitress on my first date. Also...kind of hate that tipping is even a thing, but that's an issue to take up with business owners who think it's okay to pay terribly and make the patron make up the rest, not the waiter/waitress' fault. This was a trend that actually began when owners didn't want to pay really anything for newly freed slaves and sadly continues up to today...but I digress, lol). But I do know that if I'm asking someone out, I should be the one paying. I usually even split the bill even if I'm asked out, because I'm all about "being progressive/I don't need a man to pay for me", lol. Not doing so would make me feel as though I might "owe" them something and I feel I have more leverage in the relationship when I handle my own half of things. Maybe it's silly, and usually I'm pretty humble but something about men makes me become very prideful in how I present myself. Anywho, backing up what was said in the video, asking someone out to dinner when you're broke is just a huge no-no. As others said, this guy should've asked to meet up for a cup of coffee or something much more casual and cheap. Would've saved himself the embarrassment and losing the girl, lol.

It's best to be honest & genuine from the start. Even if u don't get the girl u get friendship or respect. Girls piece of advice please 🙏🏽 stay away from narcissistic people who flash money around while they're broke/bankrupt . Avoid the headache. They don't change. Find yourself one that's down to earth, loves you and is financially responsible with whom you can build something lasting with.

You look soo good Chizi. I have a few thoughts. Firstly, he should have made sure his card was working or had enough money in it. If his intention was to impress, he should have picked up the bill or should have been better prepared for the date. However, I have to be honest and say that not everyone is loaded oo so came across a bit judgemental in some parts and other parts I understood the anger. Also more generally, I always make sure I have enough money to cover my side of the bill in case things like this happen.

"Why he pause" I am WEAK! I'm glad you trusted your instincts and knew what was up REAL QUICK. But lawd did he put you through it chile. You were absolutely right in all that you did. You like me! I'mma still go, but only because i'm curious (and so I can have a story to tell later). But "Jess" clearly didn't know who this man is and shouldn't have put this dude on you LOL. I don't think there were ill-intentions in her doing so (I hope). Butttt uhh even still, baby girl had to get up out too LOL. Thank you for this laugh, I really needed it today.

Girl the first place he sent you was available, he just didn’t like the price of the restaurant. I cannot stand a cheap or a broke man. You can’t ask a lady out and penny pinch. You handled it well.

Oh no, me and Jess would definitely have to exchange words because abeg, which kain nonsense be dis? And all jokes aside, if she doesn't really know this man, she legit could have been putting you in harms way linking you two together.

When I used to date before Covid, I set up the dates and I would meet them at the restaurant. I lived in Boston so I pretty much could walk from my house to the restaurants and back. I even have the options of hoping on the subway. I've walked out on dates before and had no problem getting home

That's why dating is so expensive and a lot of women won't go out on dates. It's these degenerate men. God save this generation.

Bless his heart, lol. It doesnt sound like a "date" though. Seems like he just wanted to meet up for a networking opportunity and a pic for advertising but either way he still needs to come correct when he's taking out a woman of status. How dare "Jess" give him such easy access.

Bro had no intention of taking you to the new restaurant. He thought you’d agree to go to the 2nd choice when there was ‘no reservation ‘. Shame. He was trying to get a leg up. Jess was kinda wrong. She should have looked out a bit.
@LoveMae12222 жыл бұрын
This was a hilarious story, especially the way you told it. I'm gonna get serious for a minute though because I got really annoyed with his night ending trick. This man really did the old "oh my cards not working" trick to try and force you into paying for the "date" HE WANTED SO BAD?! It seems that he wanted to get to know you and impress you while having a secret ulterior motive behind it all. I don't think it's a coincidence he follows you on social media. Idt he is a fan as much as he is a "wanter" of what you got. Too many "men" these days like this, too many. I don't need a rich man, we can get there together, but absolutely nothing? And his success plan at that time seemed to revolve around getting to know you. I don't want to use the word con because that seems harsh plus I'm not sure that's exactly what it was. I do feel for him a bit, if you received legit business advice, he seems really smart then. Maybe he just needs that break, you know, to get to the next step to be successful. Tricking a girl by making her think your treating her to dinner when you planned to not pay isn't really the way to do it though. That's where what sympathy I had kind of goes out the window. He couldn't have thought that was his only option, right? If he was wanting to use your success as a stepping stool, that was a bad way to try and get his foot in the door. It's almost disrespectful at that point. He think women are stupid or what? That's how it feels.
@LoveMae12222 жыл бұрын
Side note I think he assumed if he couldn't pay you'd just pick up the bill no problems no questions. But knew if he asked you to pay when asking you to dinner you'd have a higher chance of saying no. The "card isn't working trick" has happened to me twice. I ended up paying both times and tipping. I was just a waitress myself, making 2 dollars an hr plus only a portion of my tips, so I chose to not go out often. That's what upsets me so much when it happened. Boy I wouldn't have went out and spent money if YOU didn't ask me 8 frigging times to go out. And some of those times I was even very vocal about why and said "it's nothing to do with you, but I really just can't afford to go out" and you say it's on you. Ugh. Thankful to have a good man now but I went through too many con men. I almost didn't even give him a chance because all the ones before him made me think I was a loser magnet.

First of all it is a SIN for a man to INVITE a woman out knowing well he has no money to pay for HIS own bill , Like SIR you can’t even pay for your self and you are here busy inviting people out ?? You initiate the outing and you can’t pay for your self ! I am not crucifying you for not paying for the lady , but for your self ??? I need double nailing for your cross .NONSENSEEEE in Chizi’s voice 😂😂😂

He could have brought cash. They only had a cocktail each. He couldn’t cover bill. If they had gone to the first spot how did he intend to pay for the date he made. The cultural expectation at her status was that they man pays. The norm. He was trying to have a free meal and an endorsement to add to his Instagram page.

🤣🤣🤣 you've made me laugh! Maybe "Jess" introduced you because she assumed you will get on because you're both Nigerian and in the same town. Big mistake which "they" make often! Your people like to live/pretend to live bigger than they truly are. No bore 🤭. Being Ghanaian British, I know how frustrating it is when you go back home and people just waste your time. So annoying! However, don't let this stop you from dipping your toes in the pond next time. Do better due diligence than checking Social media, as anyone can write what they want. Good luck. You're looking fabulous with those braids
