GIRL I literally just travelled with 2 girls that I knew for 4 months and they were begging me to come on holiday knowing that they’re broke and obviously I had thoughts of backing out but I had already had the AP booked, they ganged up on me on the holiday. Needless to say one thing I’ve noticed is that these weirdos will literally BEG, PLEAD AND PERSUADE you to go on holiday with them just to be weird to you on the trip the WHOLE TIME. They beg and plead just to bully and throw shade and that’s the thing that gets me because they would never do this to me in my city. It’s like they want you to be vulnerable and rely/depend on them and have you wait on them just to play in your face! Ts is crazy I can’t even wrap my head around it!

Never ever depend on other ppl to have a great time, when you were waiting on her to text you back you should’ve went to go explore the city, pull up reasturants, sight seeing sights, go shopping something. The money you spent was an investment in learning true friendship. I moved out here to New York from Oklahoma back in 2019. I been here about 5 years. From my first year here all I got was invitations to hang out with people. I took some people up on some of them, some I didn’t, you can’t just hang with anyone. You’re still young and learning, it was about 5 red flags you overlooked. Always ask for details to the invite, even if it sounds flawless. Ask questions. People be weird and envious. I think they were intimidated because you’re attractive.. Just learn from this.

I went to Cali and it’s was tough to step out my confront zone but I did have friends come through for me for a few of the days. I’m pushing myself to travel alone more! An idea for yourself would be to pick a city and look up stuff you want to do. Make that list for each day and then let your loved ones know the time and places you will be there. This is relatable AF❤. I have had similar experience on a trip years ago and also struggle with saying no. I was in Vegas and ended up spending most of my time at the hotel since it wasn’t safe to explore like I would have with someone else. I’m now 40 and have been working over the years to improve but it can be hard as hell some days to set those boundaries. I totally get it….as someone with social anxiety, I have really worked hard over the last 10 years. I now enjoy my solo outings and do a lot by myself, but there are those occasions when it paralyzes me from getting out. I have self compassion and work thru it best I can. It helps to start out with going to the movie theater alone since everyone is focused on the screen and not really looking around. Then graduate to perhaps window shopping and maybe a solo brunch at a place not too busy. Just how I started getting out on my own❤. You seem very sweet and I’m glad you were able to make new friends. Also, it’s Gods protection those “friends” bailed on you because I’m afraid of what messed up shit they may have done. Jealousy is one hell of a drug!

2nd comment: but after making it to the end of your video, and hearing the whole story, I just got out of the same and longest situation like this with 2 girls I thought were my friend and who I considered my cousin being how close we were and her daughter was my lil cousin. I use to be like that... REALLY did NOT like going ANYWHERE by myself...AT ALL.... ESPECIALLY out in the open in public places... until I got older and realized I had the same sort of friends (and later on SILs I might add) who would make plans and later I ended up being "excluded" or the plans suddenly get so delayed or "canceled" at the last minute (cancellation is in quotes because they either flake out OR per my suspicions, they decide to go but don't want to include me or pick me up on the day of). Hell I wanted to live and have my own fun too as a result so I took baby steps. I started off by taking drives to places alone and just parking and sitting a bit before window shopping, going to local places for an extended period at a time like being in the magazine section or just looking at new products or foods I'm not familiar with at the grocery store just to pass the time, then the mall and little boutiques and later the thrift stores (love it). Gradually, I began to go to eat alone and going to the movies alone...all of it.. all the way up to flying out to places I WANTED TO GO ALONE. It was the best peace of mind ever and I started to truly enjoy my own company. Not to mention, I could do things on my own schedule and go wherever I wanted to go without putting out money and time to be with "friends" (or SILs) doing absolutely NOTHING that was really of interest to me just for the sake of "hanging out" or turning into other women's personal shopper in the event we went to a clothing store. So to date, many years later, I do things with my husband but to this day, if I'm not going with him, I plan to do and go places with our younger son or ALONE.

I went to the Vanderbilt and also to the MET museum, i had fun by myself. I just wouldn't go out at night alone. It's sad to say but the brightest part of this trip is at least you came back alive. These last few girls trips one of the friends have not made it back. Take it as a learning lesson.
