I'm dealing with this now. Mine is a Vivica A Fox wig. Why couldn't it smell like Fruity Pebbles or soemthing? Why fish of all things. 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

I have had exactly the same problem and it seems to be wigs from China in my experience - not so much corn chips like most ppl say but a fish like odour... ugh why it gotta be fish ?? LOL I also had a synthetic wig from China smell like it had been stored in a damp musty environment, ugh it was gross ! I don’t know exactly where the fish smell comes from , I soaked mine in neat silicon mix for several hours as that’s quite a strong smelling conditioner and that takes the edge off by overpowering the fishy odour but silicon mix has a pretty heady smell all of its own so it’s not ideal , I could pretty much taste the stuff in my bedroom when I woke up the next day after doing that 😂 . I also find that as soon as the hair is wet it stinks even more!! Most hair factories in China chemically strip the cuticle later off the hair in order to make it appear like really soft smooth remy hair and I suspect that the chemicals used to do this are responsible for the odour , ( its supposed to be like a bleach bath that they soak the hair in , in these giant vats) so the hair doesn’t tangle at first and appears to be genuine Remy hair but really that’s because there’s no damned cuticle on the hair for it to get tangled! It’s a trick (or scam!)to make cheap quality fallen hair from salon floors, hair brushes and even plug holes from many many donors appear like a bundle of beautiful healthy hair chopped from a single donor with all its cuticles properly aligned and running in the correct direction and a way to charge a high price for low quality crap , it’s coated with silicone to fake the appearance healthy smooth shiny hair .... another things that could cause the smell perhaps ?? , tho I’m not aware of dimethicone smelling like fish in any hair products I’ve ever bought before ?? As soon as you wash the hair and remove the silicone layer the true quality of the hair is revealed and more so with each wash And you are left with a frizzy damaged mess . There are soooo many shady practices that go on involving the human hair trade but if you want a cheap human hair wig from China then that tends to be what you get unless you want to pay thousands of ££ or stand and watch the hair being cut from a donor yourself and then give it to a wig maker to be made and again pay thousands if you want a full lace custom wig ... and who’s got time for that lol ? Then after all that there’s synthetic filler hairs that bulk out the human hair in wigs as they are cheaper and add more bulk and weight to the hair ( but it’s always listed as 100% human hair but you can spot those suckers under a microscope easily ... the shady list is endless of the cheating ways of the Chinese hair trade its such a shame - thanks for making your video tho , I appreciate your honest review which is something the human hair trade could really benefit from 👍 xx

SAME THING SIS ! I looked up a video that said use fabric softener I will try it if It doesn't work the wig is going in the trash. Also what other brands have you tried that haven't had the smell issue and is great hair ? Thanks 😊

I've noticed all these brands use toxic chemicals to make the hair into different textures! Never again! Those chemicals will cause serious health issues!!!

Same thing happened to me with Ali Pearl !! Wig head band and every damn time i wet it, it smells like fish !!! Bullshit i have washed this wig and the fish smell never goes away

Just keep your hair as it is it's nice. Why go too all this bother when you already got good hair

I’m having the same issue except the hair smells like fish AFTER washing and conditioning

Just purchased and the smell of fish is so strong. It only gets worse after washing and conditioning it. I have no clue how to get the smell out! Any suggestions that have worked for anyone else will be greatly appreciated.

I actually did a fabric softener soak in a zip Lock bag as recommended. And it worked ! Zero smell

I just purchased and I opened the packaging and it does smell like fish I just told them I want my money back that’s very unprofessional how am I gonna put this type of hair in my clients hair or sell it to my clients and it smell like that smh !! So pissed wasted 200 for this
