i use to go with my sister to watch matches when they came to our local high school. my sister was only 4 foot 6 inches, but Barry Windam would pick her up on his shoulders and carry her around the ring meeting fans and then take her into the locker room to meet the other wrestlers. he was the sweetest guy and very down to earth.

From a PR fan perspective, Dutch booked pretty much everyone that would shape the 2000s in terms of wrestling on the island and outside, that was one of the last crop of guys up until now that left for foreign territories like mexico or the mainland USA with WWE or TNA, WWC had a really strong crop of guys but most of then steadily went to IWA from the course of 2001 on to 2004 and they got payed great money and worked in front of sell out houses, it was a golden age. The saddest part is that will never get anyone doing a timeline history or anyone talking about the wrestlers that became big names at the time or the younger one's who went on to carry the torch and weather the drought of the 2010s.

Barry didn't want to be World Champion till late in his career. He was happy with a Porsche, fine girl, and 5,000 in hi pocket and the night off. He really didn't like being tieddown or depended on. Dusty loved Barry. Before Magnum, Barry was his Golden goose. Especially in Florida.

His booking in the Capitol and IWA was amazing down in Puerto Rico. Wrestling was so hot back then. Btw Carly Colón aka Carlito was a huge star in Puerto Rico long before he went to WWE. And yes IWA with Dutch was huge. That's actually when I learned how effective a Booker can be. But wrestling itself was over then with comedy shows doing Parodies of wrestlers. There was this comedy segment with the babyface being Ito Rolon a parody of Carlos Colon with a steak for a forehead and La Piedra a Parody of the Rock as the heel. They used Ketchup for blood which was used every single time and you had Ito Rolon talk passionate to the crowd about his entire family. It was really fun time to be a fan.

Barry Windham was the greatest worker in the business for a few years stretch. He never stayed in one place long enough. He bounced around a lot. A lot of people also thought that Barry didn't want to be in the position of being the world champion.

Dutch has great advice for everyone, wish I learned this earlier in my life. If you want to avoid fights, drama and basically seeing everyone at their worst, do not go to bars!!! Matter of fact, I just avoid drunk people now, period. Drunk people act like a-holes. I stopped drinking and going to bars years ago and I'm amazed how much better my life is... and how much MONEY I SAVE!!!

I remember reading about The Moondog’s feud with Lawler & Jarrett in Memphis in Pro Wrestling Illustrated. As A kid from the U.K. is seemed like something from the moon. I later got to see a rundown of the feud here on YT. I was as good as it promised.

Yes he was til he made the mistake of challenging Billy Jack Haynes and according to Hillbilly Jim just Destroy him. Billy said he felt bad about it and regrets it. He was summoned to Vince McMahon office thinking he was gonna be fired and Iron Mike Sharp was there also and told Vince he was to blame for the fight. That was a class act by Iron Mike.
