How it works: This fan runs on "thermal electric displacement". Between the top metal part and the bottom metal part there is a TEG(Thermal Electric Generator, the white part in the middle). When the bottom part of the TEG is hot and the top part is cool(heat will move from the hot side to the cold side), the heat moves upwards through the TEG and generates electrical power that in turn powers the small electric motor that runs the fan. I think it's a great idea/device.

Why not just buy a fan with a remote contol? Turn on. Turn off. Fast, slow etc. for the same price. Not only that but this fan is great in summer time for the bedroom.

Agreed, but I couldn't put a fan on top of the fire...

I've just bought one of these and to honest it hardly pushes any air out. It is very quiet and spins fast. Maybe I need to bend the blades. Or maybe I need to send it back and buy an eco fan.

Brump, it's more about circulating. If it was any faster, you would feel an uncomfortable breeze rather than a redistribution of the air. In this case, because the stove is more sat within the fire opening, it pulls some of the heat forward also. I suppose it's a case of horses for courses though :-)

Clough Reviews, Hi I understand, but even up close I can hardly feel any airflow. No where near enough to distribute heat in a room. Maybe mine has a fault. I'll buy another make from Amazon, try them side by side and let you know my findings. :)

@@brumpsstuff8088 That's a real shame. I wouldn't play with the blade angle though, just return it. Nobody likes post purchase dissonance. 👍

Is it really help heating the room faster / better ?
@CloughReviews6 жыл бұрын
It does two things: it pulls heat that would usually go right up the chimney, into the room but it also directs heat in a particular direction to.
@dc26dc6 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Is it really pulls enough air or just a bit ?
@CloughReviews6 жыл бұрын
Dudu Cohen it spins really fast and for such small blades it does an excellent job of pushing the air and creating circulation

Too bad this CosyStove fan is not available in the US, no sellers on Sham-a-zon are delivering to the US. If this were only available in the US.

That is a shame, it's a great little fan.

You DO appreciate that the temperature gauge is supposed to be magnetically attached to the FLUE, not the burner unit.

Nope, I didn't know that, but I've checked now and you're right. Consider it moved 😁👍

Remember this only works on older models which don't operate tertiary/ quadruple burn features. The flue gasses leaving modern burners are considerably cooler by design and so should be avoided.

@@olliet7739 so, is it worth investing in a new fire? We have two (an 8Kw one and the smaller one in the Video.. we've had them since we build the house 20 years ago.

@@CloughReviews my thoughts are: if you live in a smoke control area or are environmentally conscious - definitely as they burn so much cleaner. In general though for cost benefit outside of future proofing for climate change rules etc I don't think it's worth it if you've got two good functioning stoves. One benefit is mine does heat up so fast compared to my parents older model, and yes, I get to be smug about a 90% efficient (lots of dependencies to that figure) stove. I went for the Burley stove range if you're interested
@olliet77394 жыл бұрын
@@CloughReviews also, I should add... As the flue gases are cooler, if your chimney liner isn't well insulated and the gasses have to travel far to the chimney extraction you will probably need to replace that too. A lot of costs... But depends on your priorities I guess.
