I always recommend the 1g/lb. Because most people don’t actually reach it but as long as they try to eat more to get close to it, they’ll probably eat enough just by trying. And 1g/lb is not excessive on the off chance you reach it. The body composition benefits are pretty undeniable. It’s not magic, it just works fairly well. Eat more protein. Drink enough water and you’ll be fine.

The Window is for calories , you want to take your calories, bcaas or vitamins right after your workout to balance the lost of glucose . That is the only thing I would recommend to be precise with, proteins are eating during the day and this is not required to eat right after , only if it fits with your next meal. Protein are taken for the night during recuperation!

I really like Jerry's science based arguements. Ill probably join his web thing where he coaches or answers questions, for pay. I havent found another person with as much science, like chemistry. I'm a science nerd but i workout. I had a 46to 50inch vertical leap at 24yo (6ft4 175-180lbs, like Javier Sotomayor), before being put on Zyprexa and then Invega Sustena, which cause hyperlipid effect and Invega S. changes metabolism. Im more so going to be huge like Arnold's ,Schwarzenegger, size.. and im okay to get off my meds, and have been fine w/o them before , so if i can keep up over 210lbs I mighhht compete. I had really defined muscles, like young Columbo, at 18 19yo, but at 6'2 170lbs, now im at 210, after tooth and covid stuff for 8 months, and im like Arnold says, you have to set out to be a champion to be a champion. And ive benched like 350ish at 197 when not really fit, so maybe get like a classic physique eventually. If you are looking to compete in a sport, like bodybuilding, i'd say Jerry Brainum is your guy.

where do the excess calories from protein go? for example if you reach your TDEE for the day, then consume a 200 calorie protein shake (50 grams of protein) where do the calories (energy) go? It has to either be used or stored. You can't excrete energy. The excess calories get converted to glucose via glucogenesis, then stored as body fat if not used for energy.

Suggest looking at Blue Zone research. 5 areas of the world where the peoples of these groups, collectively live far longer than the general, average population. Interestingly, one of the commonalities between all these groups is no to low-moderate meat consumption. None of these groups eat near as much meat as the average American. The healthiest and longest lived of these groups is the large community of Seventh Day Adventist's in Loma Linda, CA. These folks are collectively vegetarian. But there are various other contributing factors besides the above. For example, they are all physically active into their elderly ages, they are more community and communal oriented, tend to have less exposure to environmental toxins, etc.
