I recommend a water filter. One you just screw atop of a standard bottle. A lot more hassle-free than going through the trouble of boiling and cooling down water, plus it is filtered so a lot cleaner in particulates. Like Sawyer MINI for example. Lasts a lifetime. The best investment you can ever make as a hiker.
@exploryfor2 жыл бұрын
True, I thought about it but I must admit I like boiling water because its a bit more adventury in a way :p

This is the best Geowizard-style straight line mission video I've seen, I hope you do more.

I enjoyed the video; you did well. Maybe a Life Straw filter water bottle to help you hydrate along the way.

Thanks alot ! Yes that might be q good idea, though I kind of enjoy the survival aspect of having to boil water ( though it's true drinking directly from a stream was perhaps a bad idea )

Wow thanks man ! That's so nice ! I really hope to return, I have grown really fond of the straight line mission thing. Thanks so much man !! Hope you enjoy watching the rest :D by the way what do you mean attempt this ? Do you mean attempt a straight line mission in the Ardennes ?
@LizardLickMoTo2 жыл бұрын
@@exploryfor no I mean doing this in my home country Poland . Or even from city to city . Its hard cos its not like Wales or where you doing cos its lot more populated area . Have you seen new Geowizard urban mission ? I was thinking maybe something like that exploring old buildings and only about 10 k that can be done in one day . By the way I live in UK and feels like this been done already . But I would be first in Poland . Someone managed to get length of Poland from.north to South in straight line on bike but that's not what you or Geowizard doing that guy didn't had 20m or 30m radius that can only move around forward.
@exploryfor2 жыл бұрын
Well if you do I'd love to see your attempt ! Yeah geowizards last video was just so great :D I've been doing this sort of thing as a kid too. Climbing into people's gardens or using a little river to go underneath roads and cross a few houses... anyway, it's great fun and the straight line mission is also a really cool concept, so if you get the chance don't hesitate!

Nice attempt! I really like the editing and your voiceover. Did you use your phone only to check the line and position?

Hey thanks alot !! I used my phone to do that and record the footage ( except in the part you just watched where I used a camera)
@pan_Psax Жыл бұрын
@@exploryfor I'm so glad to see it can be completed with just a phone! I'm planning to cross Prague with a friend, he'll have a camera, I'll be filming on my phone, GPS is also just on my phone. Weren't you worried about the inaccuracy of the GPS measurement? I mean, when I'm walking through the city - alongside a house - and therefore with a limited view of the sky, the deviation from the actual position is suddenly more than five meters. I mean, in the open countryside it's different, but what about in the woods where you're shielded by trees?
@pan_Psax Жыл бұрын
@@exploryfor Oh, I see you on r/straightlinemissions so I'll continue with the interrogation there. ;)
@exploryfor Жыл бұрын
That is indeed a valid concern ! I know the signal deviates for sure, especially under trees. However, I am not sure that deviation is actually greater than what you would get with a proper GPS device? If you find an answer to that question I would be interested. What I I like though with using the phone is just how easy it is to use a device you know well with a good app that you can costumize to your preferences, which helps navigate and get all the info you need to stay on the line
