This was a fantastic show, a perfect weather night for a summer stadium show. Opened by really enjoyable set by Little Big Town, then an amazing set by Chris Stapleton followed by George Strait with a great mix of some new with many hits and favorites from his career. What a performance! Thank you for posting this, and a giant thank you for all the performers on the stage Saturday night, we had a great time!

Released in 1973 as a country song, “Amarillo By Morning” was originally recorded by American singer-songwriter Terry Stafford. In addition, he co-penned the song with a friend and fellow songwriter Paul Fraser. On the other hand, American record producer Blake Melvis produced it for Atlantic Records. Furthermore, “Amarillo By Morning” became a big hit attracting several artists to record their own versions. As a matter of fact, before George Strait recorded his own version in 1983, there were a number of notable versions. One of its most famous versions was in 1992, when the author ALDIR BLANC (1946-2020), made his version in Portuguese for the Brazilian singer ZÉ RAMALHO (1949), which definitively exploded the song and was among the top 5 of that year.
