The beauty of F35 is the capability of 'drone commandment' - one plane commanding a fleet of drones, all connected to the central unit in midair. With drone tech improving on the exponential rate, soon drones will be able to keep up with the F35 speed, and covering longer distance with much higher of payload ability.

@5Not practical for Sg to have aircraft carrier, even mini ones. Think about the supporting vessels, logistics, and the shrinking number of NSF and regular personnel due to lower birth rate and aging workforce. An alternative is to deploy F35B onboard the frigates. This would be the closest we can get to having a carrier.

Aircraft carrier is for 'long-distance'' warfare, where you need to transport large number of planes and soldiers to a faraway location. What we Sg needs is in fact 'underwater drones', and researches are already on the way by the Western countries. In future, wars will be fought with robots and drones, all running on 7 or 8G comm.

Aircraft carrier is for 'long-distance'' warfare, where you need to transport large number of planes and soldiers to a faraway location, and the costs of just maintaining the carrier alone will be too hefty for us. According to the video Singapore to acquire eight more F-35B fighter jets, growing fleet to 12, here are some of the reasons why the F-35B is so great: Short Take-off and Vertical Landing (STOVL): Unlike most fighter jets, the F-35B can take off from a short runway or even land vertically. This is because it has a powerful engine that can swivel downwards to provide thrust for vertical lift. This makes it ideal for countries like Singapore that have limited space for airbases. Supersonic speed: The F-35B can fly at more than twice the speed of sound, which is faster than most other fighter jets. This allows it to respond quickly to threats and engage enemies from a distance. Stealth capabilities: The F-35B is made with materials and designed in a way that absorbs radar signals, making it difficult for enemies to detect. This gives it a significant advantage in combat. Advanced sensors: The F-35B is equipped with advanced sensors that can detect enemies from long distances, even before they emit any radar signals. This allows the pilot to take evasive action or launch a pre-emptive strike. Data sharing and networking: The F-35B can share data with other aircraft, ships, and ground forces. This allows for better coordination and situational awareness on the battlefield. Complements existing fleet: The F-35B will complement Singapore's existing fleet of F-15SG fighters. The F-35B's stealth and sensor capabilities will help to improve the survivability of all Singapore's air assets. 0:02

@@ahxiong-qn5jr "you dont see fighter in Ukraine russia war because Ukraine have no modern fighters," While Ukraine does not have modern fighter jets, they still have the older ones like Su-27, MiG-29 and Su-25 attack aircraft. Those are still "fighter jets" and ARE still in use, though limited/selective use due to Russia's air defence. Ukraine are still using BOTH fighter jets and drones whenever possible, it's just that fighter jets are manned and provide a larger target [radar]. There is also the cost/risk vs result to think about, if a cheap drone can achieve the same result, why send in a multi million dollar jet. It's just that the current situation, it favours using drones more than fighter jets. Isr@el's case is a good example of using both, drones for certain roles, fighter jets for others.
