That middle pickup positions sounds so damn good… so open with plenty of room to EQ carve how you want. Great review brotha!!! Beautiful guitar!

Well done review...I've been looking at different Strandberg models and I believe I've settled on the Prog 6. Thanks!

Good stuff! I'm lookito buying one for myself for session work and live gigs later this year. The ergonomics and light weight are really appealing features. Great playing in this video! You've gained a sub!

@@CodyCleggMusic for the slight movement while tuning, strandberg actually say you should add a pile of playing cards beneath it to stop it from moving. Check out their official "how to change strings on Boden trem" video kzbin.infopOyzBjqcAY8

If you want more range on the trem you can lower the action/string contact points and bring up the bridge's overall height on the posts and that'll give you a greater pull up range.

I have a hurcules three guitar rack so I got a barbell pad for squats and cut in half to put on each bar of the rack. Works great for the strandberg.

It's a greate guitar, the better way I found to stand it up is put in RockCase. That's what I store my gibson les paul standard now, I selected displayed type Rockcase for convenience monitor the guitar's status. Thank you for ur sharing, I plan to get one Boden on next.

Can you have really low action and still have a good trem range? I have a fixed bridge Strandberg and I love that I can get a really low action on it. Im considering buying a boden prog but Im afraid I will not be able to get that low without sacrificing the trem range…thanks!!

How does it play clean tones? I'm really not good with tone, from the examples in the video, it sounds a bit too bright(?) and not too well-suited for quieter/slower stuff. Either way, thanks for the video, thought-out and informative.

Hey there! Thanks so much for watching. I think the cleans sound pretty good on this guitar, but I have other guitars that simply are more suited to those parts. In my arsenal I really see this as a secondary lead guitar and something for rhythmic textures! Working on my 3rd EP now and that will be how I'm primarily using it!

I think i saw that to restring it, you can place a deck of cards under the bridge to hold it in position. You can adjust the height by removing cards. Once you have the new strings in tune and stretched, you can remove the cards.
@CodyCleggMusic Жыл бұрын
Great call! What I've been doing while I restring between tracking sessions for the new EP is removing one string at a time starting with the high E and then there's enough tension left on the bridge to keep it pretty much in place. May try the card technique too!

Good content. This is just my opinion, but to my ears, there's something going on with your bridge pickup. I have about 35 or so guitars, including a strandberg. I play mostly on the bridge pickup. In your tone examples, each time you went to to the bridge, it sounded much different than I expected it to. You might want to experiment with the height adjustment, or try a new pickup. The bridge on my strandberg sounds great!!! Just trying

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah I think the previous owner had seriously cranked up the pickup height for an extra oomfy bridge setting. Definitely was a tad hot and I've since lowered it as I've been tracking with it recently.

I bought a string swing to hold my headless guitar, from Amazon
@CodyCleggMusic2 жыл бұрын
Ooo. Nice. I'll have to look into that. I ended up building a little cardboard shoe that's fitted to the body shape with a slot to fit in my guitar rack. Works pretty well but that sounds awesome too.

What strap are you using? Never saw a design like this before

Planet Waves Locking Strap! I have 2 of them. Best straps I've ever used.

Use the multi-tool to tune. Much easier. Use a String Swing UKE for a 6 string wall mount. works great.

I got mine used so never received the multi tool unfortunately! 6mm Allen key works though!

Nice demo. I know this video is a few months old and you may have seen this, but as I was researching Strandberg (because I want a Prog or Fusion 6 bad…heck I even think the Sälen T-style or Jazz are cool) I came across this complaint about pullback range on the tremolo. I dont know if this is the issue with your guitar or not, but this video explains what may be impeding the trem. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHyzlaBugJefqdE
