about the quick craft, if you senter the arrow in the middle of the circle. so that none of the items gets highlighted. you can exit the craft menu without crafting anything.

You can leave the quikcraft menu by moving the arrow back to the middle of the crafting circle.

never underestimate the life saving potential of the humble tarp: I keep 3 and 50 feet of paracord in the trunk of my car, it takes up almost no space and can shelter a dozen people in an emergency.

@@rubypickles1836 a ferro rod, a bic lighter, a good solid multitool and a couple of flashlights were the base of my kit to start with, I replaced with better quality stuff when I could. I also add litter and a compact snow shovel in winter. my father in law and I split the cost of a case of 6 mil construction site trash bags last year and I have 4 of those in with the tarps, it was 5 but I used one to help change a tire and forgot it by the side of the road. =\ all of it fits in a "dry bag" in the back of our car [minus the winter stuff]. it takes up less space than our collection of reusable grocery bags.

Strangely, you never have to sleep currently (except to make ingame time pass) and the water still doesn't make water while you sleep, even though time passes. They may get around to fixing this eventually. Also, if you switch to experimental mode you'll get some new things to build and they remove tarps use and switch it with cloth. The people who made the game just recently got the rights to it back and plan on releasing to consoles this year and bringing pc game out of early access by end of the year.

Actually flashlight is American for torch. Just about every other place in the world calls it a torch. The history of the word "flash light" is interesting involving WWI US soldiers and a light designed to be able to signal Morse Code in a focused beam. The soldiers also used it to light things up by holding down the spring loaded flash button - kind of the way we sometimes use the lit screen of our cell phones as a make shift light. Eventually someone added a switch to activate the light in a constant way rather than flashing which eventually became it's primary use. It never lost the name "flash light" here in the US. and some still have the momentary spring loaded flash button.
