16:00 actually yea, there are russian troops in Transnistria to "protect" the land against Moldova, though Transnistria asked Russia to annex them a few years ago but they declined the offer even though they're getting benefits from the transnistrian industry. Russia doesn't even officialy recognize transnistrian independance. I think it's been recognized only by South Ossetia, Nagorno-Karabakh and maybe a few other secessionist regions in other countries. But if you ask the russian government, they will tell you "Tiraspol is in Moldova".

Housing was extremely inexpensive until COVID, I purchased a house in Good shape for $7500.00 but it's now abandoned because of issues with the town itself I just gave up and washed my hands of it. I couldn't give it away things got so bad there. People in other countries have a false image of the USA being wealthy??? If you go there you will understand.

I live in the US and a lot of our buldings look like this. We don't need well water but there are so many crack houses, abandoned buildings, dead malls... the bridges have paint and rust flaking off. These videos make me realize the US is not a 1st world country.

Watching a video made you think that but actually living it will make you realize just how lucky you are.

@@generalmartok3990 I just said we aren't a 1st world country. I didn't say we are a 3rd world country. We just aren't as high on the food chain as we proclaim to be. Lots of homeless and crime were I live, we have a crime rate of 34 crimes per 1,000 people in a region of 146,000. We have people who go without hearing aids, glasses, and dentures. I worked at a bank the assistant manager could not afford the hearing aids she needed - while working a full time job. I know people who work for tech companies that have rotting missing teeth because they can't afford to do anything about it. The dynamic isn't the abject poverty you see in unicef commercials but it's not good here. We have for profit prisons that benefit from keeping prisoners stuck in the prison system. We also have an insane decline in our political system to the point where we have 2 of 3 powerful presidential candidates that have connections to a child sex ring - we can't get these people to stop running either. It doesn't matter how we vote. Our education system is so poor many people don't know how many states there are and can't participate in any discussion on global events because they can't point out the countries on a map. Majority of us don't even know how to take care of ourselves, how our reproductive organs work because we have a conservative relgious influence in our education. In 2021 we had a portion of the population supporting a coup to overthrow the president elect. We have an entire town that is ruined by a toxic level of lead in their drinking water for YEARS and no one will help them. We have people living in their cars with full-time jobs. Some countries have warlords and gangs, we have legal entities strangeling us financially and we can't get out because there is a $50k+ paywall around the most basic of educations. Oh and the number one killer of children here is firearms. Children are being shot. Sometimes for the sheer fun of it by people that are insane and can't get healthcare. The reason the US LOOKS good is because people here don't pay for things with cash like most do in other countries. Our banks are FDIC insured so we have more faith in banking and therefor we use credit more than most societies. Wealth and security is built on debt here. That's all we got going for us. To sit back and say this is fine, that were lucky, that this isnt the top part of a downward spiral, is just sticking our heads in the sand. The writing is on the wall. I dont know what we are but we arent 1st world anymore.

That school or cultural house you visited there looks in much better condition than the school where I completed my primary education, here in Chile, during Pinochet's dictatorship. You were wondering about how conditions like those might affect your adulthood, well, I've been on therapy for many years.
