Daz, the fish you called is called a garfish. They look quite similar to barracuda, however there are no attacks on humans ever found. They are perfectly edible and they’re bones are typically blue or green. Amazing video, can’t wait for part 2!!

The fish that daz caught was called a needlefish. It’s a native species to that region. They are reported to be just as dangerous to people as they are to smaller fish. There was a report of a woman who got stabbed through the eye once because she was wearing earrings and the fish mistook the glistening jewels on her ears for prey. Great video by the way daz ☺️

Are you sure you're not thinking of a Barracuda? Needlefish only rarely injure humans, but Barracudas injure humans often because they are notoriously attracted to silvery jewelry and metals thinking they are Silver fish which is one of their primary food sources.

They do attack people but rarely there are a few cases i saw, as they must come around the top of Queensland (Australia) Hope that helps as that's what i was able to find, but Daz is lucky it didn't come to close!

@Ashley Dixon I’m positive that that’s a Needlefish. I saw one that was even bigger on river monsters once. Also have you seen a barracuda and considered the size difference? They may be in the same family, but I’m pretty sure one could tell the difference between them! 😅

@@archieburnett2780 No I Know what Daz caught was a Needlefish. I was referring to you speaking about them being attracted to shiny objects. That is a trait of the Barracuda.

@Ashley Dixon oh ok. I see what you mean now. Well the answer is still the same. There’s an episode of river monsters where Jeremy Wade catches a needlefish on account of a woman who was winning in the water and got impaled through her eye because she was wearing earrings that where shiny and below the surface of the water look like prey fish. A needlefish mistook the earrings for prey, charged in their direction and impaled the woman through her eye socket with its king ‘needle’ like rostrum, which is another word for snout. Both needlefish and barracuda are in the same family, so they have different traits, both similar and dis-similar. Nice you you to be curious and share your information 😁

Honestly Daz reminds me of my dad..he passed away 3 years ago and he had the same humor, was such a kind person too and he always loved to go on adventures and experience new stuff..
