31:56 is my absolute favorite part- it sucks you had to go thru that, but so good that you laughed at what just happened. I have traveled all over Thailand and this stuff happens everywhere- its such a freeing, spiritual feeling to see the good in such a f**ked situation. Love the channel by the way. I found you today and loved everything about your journey. Hats off to you for making this.

Very cool! I am beginning to piece together your story through the different videos you made. Now I see that you have lived in CM for a few years before the journey began...nice! After watching some of your later videos from the south, I could tell that you have been in Thailand for a bit. I was living in CM too for a few years when you were there and up in Mae Hong Son adventuring around on my Honda wave. Heading south for smoke season is key! Excellent adventuring and an AMAZING job with video and entertaining, education. Nice work man

Chiang Mai is lovely, I strongly recommend starting Thailand there, because it's the second largest city, got lots of nightlife and cool stuff to visit, but much less damaged by tourism and foreigners in general than other places in Thailand. People are very kind to strangers there because they don't see too many of them all the time. Greatest food in all Thailand too.

I can't put it any better than all the other comments: This vlog is filled with dramas. All the fears of travelling to remote areas using public transport, that seen better days, come to life. And this is just the start ! I think lots of people fantasize about making such epic journeys by themselves carrying only the minimum of things, but, most of us given up the dream at the packing stage. That was another drama all of it's own ! Being from Thailand myself ( I hate to say it, but, you probably live and worked in Thailand more than me and I'M A THAI person. It's weird !) my advice to you is to roll with the punches. It's all smiles and laughter at first, but Thai bureaucracy and red-tape can suck all that sunshine out of you ! I'm biting my fingernails....That bike of yours is going to be the first casualty. I just know it !

Just subscribed! Today I started by watching you & “Ice” show off some Chiang Mai accommodations & now hooked on following your adventure. I’m in Canada preparing to move to Chiang Mai in September to teach. Gotta say, I’ve never witnessed such bad luck in the 1st 4 days of a trip!! But you turned it into a really engaging video - well done!!

Paddy, I really enjoy and appreciate your channel. Your positivity in situations is a breath of fresh air. Thailand has been my wife and I’s favorite country to travel too and we can’t wait to get back. In the meantime, looking forward to watching you make your way through the country. Sending good vibes for easier travel days.

One of the best videos you’ve made (including your Budgeteers videos). I couldn’t stop watching and you almost made me late for work. This should be episode 1 in the series.

I've taken that Southern train a few times. In the late 1970s, the bathing area was a few klong jars on wood pallets with tons of cockroaches. The sleeping quarters were really nice. Teak walls and white linens. Best chicken I ever had was in the mid-1990s, made by a woman with a hibachi at the side of the tracks at the Surat Thani station. We still talk about that chicken. So so so so good!

I'm hoping you don't need to change your branding from Next Level Adventures to Misadventures of Paddy Doyle! Geez, the coffee episode woulda had me rocking in the corner after all that had happened before! Glad you could laugh through it. Looking forward to what comes next ⭐🤗⭐
