As an ex chef having grown up in a French and Seafood restaurant in Melbourne, I love Thai street food I will occasionally have room service, but the best food is always street food, also living in a big Vietnamese community as well, love Vietnamese, and Malay street food is amazing too. I think you need too send this video to the BBC or ITV or Streaming companies as you are a natural at describing flavours and the whole experience, it’s very polished but natural, not just yanking your chain I’m a performer and have performed in a lot of places around the world, not much money in what I do, but that’s not why I do it, I have to do it to remain sane. Anyway seriously a young guy eating street food throughout Thailand for a start, that would appeal to lots of different audiences especially right now when people can’t travel. Seriously you need to make a pitch. Now I’m hungry and it’s nearly 2am.

Paddy I love your 7 tips. As for number 1, I call it, "Do a walk about." Never go to the first place you see. Also, I agree, go to a place that specializes in only a few dishes. As someone who helped my gf in Indonesia run two warungs (small family run eatery). Last, (even though you mentioned it) number 8 look for places where locals are eating, and you normally do not go wrong. Great video.

Love the street food in Thailand. Spent a month on Koh Samui a few years back and would frequently visit the night markets for the street food. My wife is Thai, while living in Thailand she didn't really cook because of all the street food available. Here in the US she cooks a lot of the Thai dishes, but we are both looking forward to being able to return to visit the Kingdom next year.

I’d like to add a little bit on the issue of food allergies. We found that instead of asking the seller if they have this or that (the things that you are allergic to) in their food or not, just tell them before you ask that you are allergic to what and then ask if they have that in the food. You will get a nicer response from the seller.

The Bbq egg skewers (8.46) are my fav, what they do is they make 2 holes top and bottom, they then empty the egg white and yolk while they keep the shell to be reused. The egg yolk and white are then mixed with spices and filled back in to the egg shell and thus beinf bbq over charcoal fire.. Highly recomend you yo try

Pad grapao is my most often cooked Thai dish. So quick and simple . The gravy you spoke about is a mixture of soy, oyster and fish sauce with a bit of sugar. Only problem at the moment is finding holy basil locally, so I have to use basil and mint but it's not the same. Just wanted to mention that I buy EVERYTHING on Amazon UK, including my weekly Morrissons shopping, so PLEASE set up a link to the UK site so I can put all my purchases through it and support you xxx

My tip after having been to Thailand since 1989 is when you order street food I always look for an inside table as far away from the road side as possible because I do not like to breath in road traffic exhausts while I eat. That is just me you might not mind.

Good energy in the videos. Another tip I would add, is, if it’s busy with the locals, it’s probably a good place. Some places may have people lining up so clearly the locals know about it and think it a good place. If a place has no customers when others do, there is probably a reason.

I hope you have a good time in the deep south. My hometown is Narathiwat and at the moment it's beautiful here. You surely couldn't pick a better time to visit. The food up here is delicious too. If you enjoy a plate of deep fried chicken (kai thord), this region is famous for it. You should also definitely give khao yum or nasi kerabu in Malay a try, a local vegetarian dish of blue rice with a plethora of herbs and fermented fish sauce, budu.

Oh yes please....that looks so good. I remember feeling pretty safe going to the night markets there because many street stalls didn't set up until about 5:00pm so it wasn't like the food sat out all day...Still needed to be careful but oh so good. And to finish it with fruit (it tastes so good there) or Mango Sticky Rice YUM!🏍🙏🤞🍺
