With Grog’s mind now silenced, the twins fall upon the last surviving Duergar. Vex’ahlia presses their dwarven captive for information. The Duergar only laughs at the barbarian's plight, and spits out warnings of the “master” that awaits them below, before Vax’ildan finally puts her out of her misery. After an uneasy night’s rest for the party and hours of meditation for Keylith, the druid is thankfully able to restore Grog’s mind, and the Vox Machina continue down through the great cavern. They pass through a gutted goblin village strewn with corpses, and eventually spy another group of Duergar, dragging along 3 dwarven captives. Scanlan and the twins whip out their flying carpet and tail the Duergar from afar, over a thin, creeking rope bridge. Scanlon disappears from sight, and now invisible, carefully makes his way into a war camp teeming with dark dwarves, ogres, and trolls. There he bears witness to an Illithid controlling all those around him, devouring the mind of one of the three dwarven miners.
After catching his companions up, the group hatches a plan to lure their enemies into an illusion and drop them to their doom, into the cavern below the bridge. It is partially successful, but then, while acting as living bait, Vax’s mind is stunned by the Illithid and he is almost dropped to his death before Tiberius swoops in to save him.
With the plan now in disarray, Vex and Keylith decide to delve into the chasm below the bridge, in spite of their companions’ protests. Their instincts serve them well though, and hidden behind a subterranean waterfall they find a cave. Within it awaits a powerful and unlikely ally.

There was (probably still is, I just haven't checked in a while) a thing where you could send food to twitch streamers, from some restaurants local to their area. You did not need to know their address, and it was not revealed to you when you sent it. Participating restaurants were limited, and the streamer had to choose what selections people could send to them. Pizza was pretty much all that was available to send to G&S, and they only had a few selections of type. Later in the series Critical Role started bringing in some of their own food because they were burned out on the pizza every week.

That's not why he left/was asked to leave. But these cracks in the ensemble were showing. What annoyed me, as a player, was he constant misuse of Telekinesis. "I rip the wings off the griffon and shove them down it's throat with Telekinesis." That's not how TK works.

@@crowborn666 TK would move the whole griffon. If it took, you could pick it up and slam it. Dip it into a pool of acid... something like that. Ripping off discrete parts, like heads, is way too powerful and intricate for this spell. Now, if memory serves, they were still figuring out how to transition from 4 to 5, so maybe in 4 it could be used that way. But I think he just liked the word "Telekinesis" and used it in as cool a way as possible. And I highly recommend a Wizard! Once you get your spells organized, and get used to the Concentration mechanic (and what can and cant be Ritual Cast), nothing is as versatile and useful!

In this episode, after defeating the two umber hulks, Grog decided unilaterally to go slash a camp mattress (completely unnecessarily; and certainly not asking or waiting for anyone to take a vote on this) & that ended up getting him & everyone else into a lot of trouble. He never apologized for this, and no one's mad at him. Meanwhile, the two ladies want to go scout an area 600ft down that is easily going to be likely safer than the plan to approach the powerful mind-flaying illithad across the cliff (turns out it WAS safer), and for doing this they DO apologize afterward (which they shouldn't - it was a good idea), and still y'all are mad at them but not Grog. Think about it.

I've said it for other episodes, but I'll say it again. Thank you so much for REAL PROPER CAPTIONING!!! It's not just the auto-generated stuff that's only available on so many other KZbin videos. Having a deaf mother and deaf friends and my own sorta reliance on captioning, it means a lot. I'm not truly deaf, but having grown up with it, I rely on it for multiple reasons. Lemme tell you how damn helpful it is for names. Seeing them is easier than hearing them, especially for odd names like in RPGs & names from foreign countries. Anime names are hard for me to separate without seeing it typed out.
