I experienced God's Presence as a youth and adult. It was an inward reverence toward Scripture and God's Holiness. Bethel is not Pentecostalism, it is heresy, emotionalism for it's own sake, irreverence, defiance and rebellion against 'It is WRITTEN'. The Holy Ghost and my holiness father taught me the difference between BIBLICAL Pentecost and the charismatic nonsense and blasphemy illustrated by Bethel and their followers. Isaiah 6 is one of the most precious and MAJESTIC illustrations of Jehovah which 50 years after my first reading STILL permeates my heart. THAT is the glory of God. JESUS CHRIST, AS HE IS, UNCHANGING, UNALTERED **IS** THE GLORY OF GOD. This Bethel circus is not. I commend you gentlemen for your recognition of these deceivers..

In some sense, it would be better to just ignore things that you don’t accept vs. sitting there in a suit and being very dour, dogmatic, and disappointed. The contrast this creates is a board of “Pharisees” judging a “new move of the spirit”. The undiscerning will likely make this same comparison. Maybe just say, “that seems a little off to me”, and use it as a springboard to talking about the serious but pleasant things of God.

Where in the New Testament does it say that the glory of God was "vailed" in Jesus? The idea that God is so glorious that we can't be in his presence, seems completely refuted in the incarnation. consider John 1:14; 2 Corinthians 4:6; Hebrews 1:3.

It's astounding... Am I understanding correctly that these men believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit have ceased? If so, then how would any of them possibly think that the demonic is still manifested, but NOT the manifestation of the Holy Spirit? Let's think about this rationally and theologically... Would God really leave us with no manifestation of the Holy Spirit while allowing in this earth manifestations of demonic spirits. Perhaps I'm taking what they're saying out of context... Or perhaps they are taking what they are seeing out of context?

MMJ that’s not what cessationism is. @@mmj9395 I will humbly admit that I cannot speak for all cessationists, because I think the specifics of that would possibly vary from individual to individual, and I am not even a cessationist myself. At least, I don't believe that I am...kind of in the middle you could say? Let's see, I definitely don't believe that any new "revelations" are happening today such as "God told me to tell you..." But I definitely do believe the gifts continue today, just not in the same extraordinary, spectacular, sensational manifestations as in the apostolic age. While miracles do and CAN happen, I would tread carefully with asserting that the miraculous events as described in the NT are normative for the Church today, such as the charismatics would propose. Key word: normative. I do not believe they are normative, and I do not believe those gifts are manifesting in the same ways they were back then. We have to recognize that we are living in different times and circumstances than the apostles, even though they had the same Spirit. The canon is closed, and while illumination can and does continue into today, revelation does not. For if that were the case, our Bible would be expanding its pages indefinitely. So in that sense, I am not a continuationist. And most definitely I am not a charismatic. Not sure if that would put me under the cessationist category or not, because admittedly I have not studied the cessationist doctrine that closely, I just know what the cessationist position is NOT, and it's not the belief that ALL gifts of the Spirit listed in 1 Corinthians 12 have completely disappeared. If that were to be the cessationist position, I would have had to agree that it is unbiblical. I am not the right person to ask if you want to understand the cessationism more thoroughly, though. I was only defending it from a common misconception and misunderstanding. For more on that, I would recommend Gaffin's "Perspective on Pentecost" or "The Final Word" by O. Palmer Robertson :) hope that was helpful

I didn't realize there were different versions of the false doctrine of Cessationism, I was only aware of the pure sense of the the word and that it means all gifts of the Spirit have ceased once the Bible was canonized.

@@mmj9395 Yes I think that they could have chosen a better term than "cessationism", as that carries a connotation that is slightly off from what the actual doctrine teaches. in the time being I've been looking more into cessationism vs. continuationism to understand this debate better and there are very strong arguments for both sides, so I'd encourage you to look into it as well! I've been really edified. At this point I'm not sure which one I align with, I need to study the Scriptures more about these particular doctrines before I take a definitive stance on the issue. I'll get back to you soon with a theological basis for my position, as I like to give thorough and thoughtful responses. Thanks for engaging with me

Not sure why they haven't spoken personaly to these leaders they are judging without knowing. It said in the Word to go to your brother and tell him the offense... or it also says go to the one who is falling away and bring him back. Very sad how this has been handled. None of them have said they met with any of these people they have talked about.

Undignified does not prove God is not involved in these services. You cannot disprove God's expressions today(beyond the book of Acts) by using your own supernatural judgement to prove it wrong. In other words, you cannot teach that the Spirit of God does not move today like He once did...using your Spirit to determine what is and is m.j ot of God.

Hey Frank - get your head out of your rectum before you talk about other pastors. John MacArthur is not a Calvinist. Calvinists have an amillennial eschatology, a distorted ecclesiology and other facets of theology that MacArthur does not subscribe to. MacArthur occasionally will quote Calvin because John Calvin was right on in much of what he taught. MacArthur simply believes that God's will is determinative in salvation....much moreso than the will of fallen man. If you choose to believe your will is supreme over God's will, that is your own error - but to call MacArthur a heretic because of his emphasis on God's sovereignty is moronic on your part.

They all believe in same, just the levels of there education is different. @@frankthe2ndsonof1st16 - I sat under MacArthur for years - trust me, I know what he believes. He is NOT a Calvinist. He has said on many occasions that Luther and Calvin got nearly everything wrong - but they got the most important thing right...justification by grace alone through faith alone according to the sovereign will of God. Calvinists advocate for Amillenialism, child baptism and other doctrines which stand in contrast with what MacArthur believes and teaches. Secondly, there is nothing "heretical' about teaching that God's elective purposes reign supreme over man's fallen will. MacArthur is not a "hyper-Calvinist," as many think he is. He does not restrict man's roll in believing - nor does he teach that man's will is not engaged in salvation. He simply believes that everyone who comes to Christ does so because God chose them...but still, they do have to believe. He also does NOT believe that God chooses people for hell. What you believe about MacArthur is in the end irrelevant. But you are for sure misguided - and have attributed to MacArthur beliefs that he neither teachers nor advocates. If you want further proof of everything I've just said, I'll post some links and you can hear it from his own lips. He believes in Predestination and Human Volition as two sides of the same coin.

Jesus clearly said that he had not come to bring peace but a sword and that he will set at variance a daughter against her mother and a mother against a daughter and that a mans enemies will come from his own house hold his own family .....then Jesus boldly proclaimed that he not the devil was the one that was going to do this ......WHY? Because truth against a lie brings the right kind of of separation . Jesus said that in the last days that a great falling away was going to take place because many cannot endure sound doctrine having itching ears for all that the false prophets and teachers will tell them as they also will preform great signs and wonders deceiving many and teaching the doctrines of demons and devils but Jesus warned us not to be deceived by them but to flee from them . Truth causes separation of sheep and goats as truth is designed to do just that . Devision is not always a bad thing is what Christ is telling us in his warnings against evil seducers . Paul boldly said of any one come to preaching and and teaching another JESUS who we have not preached then mark that person cursed and expose them and avoid them for satanic roams about like a ravenous wolf seeking who he may devour .....these men are exposing a snake oil anointing and strange fire among GODS people and doing exactly as the apostle Paul warned them to do . If it caused division it is devising the sheep from the goats as the scriptures said it would and that is a good thing not a bad thing . D
