I think 14 years and 2 children together is pretty darn close to being married, with or without the signed papers. They were a very loving couple and they created and raised 2 beautiful children together and they still care about and respect each other. It was probably a better union than so many traditional marriages with signatures. I don’t know why so many people are so determined to correct you about this. It seems so petty.

Absolutely no way is it 10+. His French is just OK and he was with Vanessa for 14 years. Why do people exaggerate so hard when it comes to languages?
@sarahcinnamonthriving95632 жыл бұрын
@@dgarzaart2000 A survivor of childhood prolonged and severe child abuse, neglect, &/ or trauma statistically ends up with C-PTSD including a higher risk of relationship dynamics similar to what they and their sense of self in relation to others were brainwashed-raised with and systemically systematically conditioned subconsciously to, and because it is from the start of self, socialization, human dvlp't, and neurologically forces wiring and usage of brain parts in ways not intended at those early formative stages, this propensity to end up in such relationship dynamics has NOTHING to do with "sharpness"/ smarts/ intellect. Ppl understand Dr. Gary Chapman's "5 Love Languages" and the common accepted understanding that our upbringing influences our future relationships and parenting styles, YET fail to apply the SAME corrolaries that realistically manifest when one is raised without Love Language type foundations, and instead raised with hate, malice, abuse, trauma, and/ or neglect, devoid of validation of one's value as one develops, and extremely lacking in positive healthy boundaried and balanced reciprocating effective interactions with others during one's developmental foundational primary growth of self/ ego/ esteem, function, and socialization. WHY do so many disregard what being raises with NON-Love Languages does to ppl? WHY is there a prevailing assumption that EVERYONE has the foundations for such, and should therefore be able to access love language and self-valuing type dynamics? WHERE and HOW is that supposed to come, when psychology and neurosciences are only JUST figuring this stuff out NOW??? It is AMAZING that so many of us DO develop into compassionate, creative, contributing citizens, despite these damaging deficits to other aspects of our neurologies, as Depp has! Even neurotypical ppl from far more privileged backgrounds do not often excel and exemplify decencies and achievements that ppl like Depp, Oprah Winfrey, Steve Harvey, Tyler Perry, Tony Robbins, Teal Swan, Dean Graziano, Maya Angelou, and thousands of others, go on from such starts in life to excel, while still having imperfections and ongoing learning curves through their adulthoods. Those higher thinking brain parts are later developed, and not even integrated between hemispheres in early childhood... This is why KNOWING the problem and sources is only HALF the battle... and why healing from such pervasively deep damages is not linear. It changes brains from what and how they are designed to function from their starts, and mutates their developments away from natural neurotypical nurturing and protecting cultivation of human development ideal environments. When one is raised with trauma/ abuse &/or neglect/ severe basic deprivations, it causes developmental damages to the brain's Limbic System (oldest primal systems' response base and and hub), messing our Survival INSTINCTS and fundamental needs of human dvlp't and bonding as sentient social beings (Fight, Flight, Freeze, Submit, Attach), BEFORE our reasoning higher thinking and social parts of our brain are even integrated to function together to navigate complex and potentially deviant dynamics, and MORE so when we are raised by ppl who abuse their position of trust and responsibility for a child's human dvlp't, by seeking to brainwash Cognitive Dissonance to constantly deter that child from developing well-being, self-valuing skills... NO Narcissist or abuser or user sees such as useful in those they devalue and victimize! Also the Limbic older part of the brain is a gatekeepers blocker to those other parts of the brain and bodies' systems (brain and hormone chemistries like Dopamine, epinephrine, cortisol, serotonin; respiratory; cardio-pulminary; nervous; parasympathetic... So there are absolute physiological triggers and impacts when our Survival Instincts have been force-activated beyond age/ stage appropriate capacities for prolonged severe lengths, that comprise the critical dvlpt'l years of ones' whole childhood. Healing involves massive gap-filling and coming up against brain developmental damages at so many levels that have survivors being FAR from neurotypical, from which privileged position your comment is victim shaming and blaming Depp. Please understand the neuroscience realities before you judge what others do or do not do with their brains.

"Common-Law MARRIAGE" is a thing. :)
@johnlyn12 жыл бұрын
Common law marriage is a thing where it is recognized by law. France does not recognize common law marriage. And when common law marriage does apply, it requires filing for a divorce through the court to dissolve that marriage. There was no divorce between Johnny and Vanessa Paradis. They merely went their separate ways deciding to break up like any other couple who breaks up that were not married. And if common law marriage was in place for Johnny and Vanessa, they would both be guilty of bigamy since they never got a legal divorce to dissolve their marriage which is required with common law marriages the same as all marriages. They both got married after they broke up and there was never a legal divorce filed which means they were never married under common law. In the U.S., common law marriage is only recognized in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Montana, New Hampshire (for inheritance purposes only), Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah and the District of Columbia. No common law marriage in France and no common law marriage in California. So, while common law marriage is a thing, Johnny and Vanessa didn't have, you know, the thing!
@johnlyn12 жыл бұрын
@@malena_8 That is incorrect. Common law marriage IS marriage recognized as a matter of law in states that recognize it. If a state does not recognize common law marriage then it does not exist in that state. France does not recognize it. California does not recognize it. In states that do recognize you have to get a legal divorce to dissolve the marriage. Johnny and Vanessa were never married. There was no common law marriage which is why there was no legal divorce. If they were married under common law marriage then they would still be married since there was no legal divorce to dissolve that marriage. They both would also be guilty of a crime for getting married to someone else while still being married to each other since there never was no legal divorce to dissolve their common law marriage. But that is not an issue because there was no common law marriage.
