Hosea didn’t like killing people and he only kills one guy though out the entire story, which is about 6 months to a year. Blue jays are more passive than eagles so it just makes sense to me that it would be Hosea or someone else in the gang that was close to John, like Sean for example.

A detail you have not covered yet: If gang members or NPCs are reading books and you use your binoculars to look into the opened book -> there is actually readable text! So far whenever I have tried that (e.g. with Dutch in Horshoe overlook sitting at a tree reading or a man on a plateau near the waterfall in the Northeast close to Charlotte's house) the book they read always is one of the sultry romance novels Mary-Beth is reading (I jotted down a few lines from the text I read through the binoculars while peeking over their shoulders and typed it into google -> and always got the text of that romance novel, I believe it was the one taking place in Scotland).

I did that in the serial killers hideout, surprisingly most of the ones I read were all unique newspaper clippings about all of his murders despite being pretty low resolution, and there are a TON in that cellar. The level of detail is mind blowing.

Something i discover myself today in rdr2 is that when you take a bath in any city as ARTHUR or JOHN if you look closely the water is not see through , therefore we can conclude that it’s not water in fact it’s MILK , if you shoot at the MILK jars you can see the that the bath water and the milk are the SAME. I don’t think you are right about that Rip Van Winkle thing at all. It was a well known story written by the same author who created the The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow, Washington Irving, and was equally well known to most people of that time, who will have read the book (or had it read to them) as children. The in-game stage coach drivers always comment on taking a nap during the ride, as a way of acknowledging the passage of in-game time during the journey. As the story of Rip Van Winkle is about a guy who falls asleep for a number of years and who sees the world as it’s changed from his day, it will have been in the zeitgeist of the period Arthur’s story is set in. When John introduces himself as Rip Van Winkle, he’s being sarcastic, not expecting to be believed, any more than you would if you told a cop your name was Darth Vader. He’s simply making it clear that he won’t give his real name to a Pinkerton. The Pinkerton in question knows this and gives a humourless laugh to acknowledge the point. So, Arthur wouldn’t have expected to get away with using the name, any more than you would expect to be believed if you introduced yourself to your Uber Driver as Obiwan Kenobi. Nor would he have any reason to give a false name, or even tell the driver his name. The driver is just referencing a well known character, referring to the fact that Arthur has slept through most of his journey and it’s time to wake up.

I think the whole shallow river drowning thing is a reference to Diego Salcedo According to the story, Salcedo died in 1511, during a trip to Puerto Rico, when Taínos, under the command of Agüeybaná II and the Cacique of Añasco, Urayoán, drowned him in the Río Grande de Añasco.
